I just follow Christ.
The limits of quantum mechanics make it impossible even in principle to predict the future position and momentum of a particle. It's not just that scientists aren't good enough yet, they've proven (as much as anything in this world is "proven") that they will never be able to perfectly predict the future position and momentum of a particle due to its wave nature.JohnR7 said:Ok, then how do you explain that even if the selection process is not blind, the selections themselves are said to be produced though a blind and random process.
There is no question that randomness is involved in evolution and natural selection. I'd have doubts about God's almighty power if he COULDN'T (or perhaps if he didn't, but that's too speculative for my tastes) create a universe that could run without him constantly fiddling with it!
The amazing part to me is that though he created a universe that can (and does) run without his assistance, God desires to be an integral part of our personal lives. He doesn't HAVE to because he wasn't able to (or didn't want to) create a universe that would work on its own. He simply prefers to love us and commune with us. This is 'proven' to me (with evidence, though mostly personal experiences that aren't repeatable, and therefore not scientific) through the Bible, and in large part, my personal experiences.
So I guess random processes don't bother me much. I believe God knows the position and momentum of every particle in the universe, and knows the future position and momentum of each particle, not because it's possible for us, but because he is unlimited and unbounded by the physical laws he created.
I "explain" that evolution is blind because mutations are entirely random. Though natural selection selects for higher survivability, it doesn't particularly care which organism is selected. I "explain" the way the universe is by observation, not by claiming I know better than somebody else who God is and how he chooses to work!
