So the Protestant way is to do onto others what they do to us? I heard that some of your Bibles have been altered, but I haven't heard of that verse.Have you somehow missed the long-running thread on Protestant errors and inventions? Your fellows have been having a great time ridiculing and misrepresenting us over there. You're free to ask them to show the charity you're promoting here, of course.
This isn't true. We do have a debate sub-board, it is called General Theology, as at least half of these threads have something to do with Catholicism. The Protestants and EOC have a lot of issues with the theology of Roman Catholicism and when they post the issues they have a problem with, then you can give a rebuttal from the RC side, ok? [FWIW, the OBOB doesn't have a debate sub-board as does the TAW board.]
Thks
.
Perhaps RCs should just stick to the OBOB board if they can't defend their position w/o acting defensive on the GT board.
.
He's not wrong though, LLOJ. Why are folks in GT always targeting Catholics?
Did you read my previous post? The mirror opposite of this thread has been running for a long time now with Catholics having a good time making fun of Protestants.
I don't remember it, but if you have posted over there, "Why are folks in GT always targeting Protestants?" I thank you.
I think there was a mess before the reform, but the counter-reformation and council of Trent sent things from bad to worse very quickly. Making the apocrypha cannon, for example, was a real bad move.
What did the Apocrypha contain that made it such a bad move?
Several things that are used as proof texts for ungodly practices and doctrines such as purgatory and prayers for the dead. To say nothing of the fact that it wasn't scripture for 1500+ years, then it suddenly was

And should know that that thread was in response to a thread of the subject of this one.
That's true, but it seems to me that only one side is constantly claiming that they're victims of some "anti" crusade against them while continuing to be on the attack themselves. I can't remember any posts from anyone, for example, complaining about "Here we go again with more anti-Methodism."
Ah yes, the ole term "quid pro quo" comes to mind......
Perhaps we should begin an anti-Methodist thread?
