If God is going to do His work on earth, how much does he need man to do the work. How are we involved and what does He require of us.....
He requires us to believe in His Son he sent for salvation. He also gives us the faith to do so and the Holy Spirit who will convict us in our hearts.

God does not need humans to do "God work." Now he may have something for us to do, but he needs no help doing his thing..... of course that does not prevent some from attempting to do God's work....

What does he require of us? To love him and love each other... now what might that look like?

Take a look at the message of reconciliation in 2 Cor. 5:19. You cannot reconcile if you begin with the belief that the human race is not a singular unit.

Dominican (Homeboy)
The message shows that
God is the one restoring the world back to Himself...

This message of reconciliation is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rather that accusing people of the commiting sins, His message is "come to Jesus as you are and be restored to God".
This proves that those who go arround saying "be restored to law" "Keep the sabbath," does not teach God's messege of reconciliation".
Why do I say that?
The gospel preaches about forgiveness not condemnation for lawbreaking. The Gospel is about God's love, it's nothingelse but what God has done for us, not what we must do. (other than believe it and recieve it.)
Yes those who preach the gospel talk about the OT, to connect us to God's promises...but we're not under the law as they were in the OT.
Is law breaking condemned? Yes it is.....But the Holy Spirit is able to reach each one in our weaknesses. Face it, the 10.com is not what most people have trouble with. Some may have a problem with drugs, sexual sin, hatred, racism, JUDGING OTHERS, etc. When we can give it to Jesus, He'll take it away from us.

Unfortunately, Yes!....we are devided by race, culture, rich, poor, language, denominations, etc.
The Christian with the mind of Christ fight for unity, liberty and justice.

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

When the question is asked; What does God require of us?
Mic 6:8He hath shewed thee, O man, what [is] good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

In truth and love

In Red's opining post he ask this question:
If God is going to do His work on earth, how much does he need man to do the work. How are we involved and what does He require of us.....
From the responses thus far, I must ask, just how much thought have each of you put into your answers? Perhaps it might be well to contemplate the question a bit more and rethink your answers.

I will wait and see if there is more to be added before making futher comment.

Respectfully,
Doc

ummmm yes... I always think before posting.... the question is flawed.... God does NOT need man to assist him in doing God's work... God may have something for us to do, thus that would be "our" work, not God's..... there is a difference....
can't wait to hear your take...

To love Him and His Son, as well as show love to our neighbors.

Also to repent and pray. We must build up a relationship with Him.

Everything else is not required, but appreciated. If not one single living human on the earth was willing to do God's work He'd still find a way to reach us.

I am quoting again a text that RC shared:

2 Corinthians 5:19-20 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20 We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

It seems that we need to be working as if we are Christ's ambassadors, and that God is using us to make His appeal to the world.

The answer is so clear, I have to limit how many verses I type so that no one skips over my post because it is too long

"that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God." phil 1:10-11

"do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world" phil 2:15

"
let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity." 2 Tim 2:19

"let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us." heb 12:1

"likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. There fore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts." romans 5:11-12

Basically, the idea is for those of us who have already allowed God to justify us through faith should also allow God to sanctify us through faith. We should allow Him to complete the work that He started. Specifically, to give us victory over every sin. We can't do it ourselves. He can do it, though.

I'm with you Stormy....Personally I believe as is written that, God "ceased"(sabbath) from all His work.

Gen 2:1Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh dayfrom all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested fromall his work which God created and made.

Maybe Red was not clear about what God require from His ministers or His church (people).

Hi Stormy,

Your last response to my previous question:
This afternoon Telaquapacky made this post in our study of Daniel and Revelation. I think he has answered my originl question without realizing it.(I'm not used to getting this kind of help.) You are correct in stating that God doesn't need our help, but rather He has allowed us to help/be used by His Holy Spirit to acheive His goal; That is to reach every person on this earth with the GOOD NEWS of of the gospel and that He is a God of love. How, in His dvine wisdom, He has planed an "escape route" from the death sentence of sin.

So yes, we do have a role to play in God's plan. By Daniel accepting the role God wanted him to play he did indeed fulfill God's "need" for his help. For this to have happened in any other way Satan's accusation against God that we don't really have free will would have been proven true.

It is also quite safe to say that by Daniel's actions he also displayed the true spirit of the two greatest commandments. Duty to God and duty to his fellow man.

By the way, do you still think?; "...the question is flawed..."

Respectfully,
Doc

Doc, you are missing the point and confusing the issues. God's work is not the same as God's plan. It is as plain as day that humans have a role in God's plan. That would be our work. God's work is different. The problem is in the OP. Stormy has been trying to show the confusion inherent in it.
