I agree. But there are classes that you absolutely hate that you have to take. That's the worst!

The school that I am transferring from is the worst with that. Check this out!

Wow that is a lot of courses! I am going to change schools next year. This year was hard. I got off to a bad start at the school that I am at right now. My grandfather passed away, I became stressed out with the amount of work, unmotivated as to what I wanted to do, and so I messed up. I ended up dropping math with a 'w', I decided not to take a history test that was worth 30% of my grade, I blew off my last essay for english class and I don't want to transfer those credits.

You are right. We should be allowed to chose a course from a science, english, history, math, etc. Some of the general education courses are unnecessary for our major.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear about your grandfather. That must have made everything a lot harder.

Yes, I took it hard when he passed away. I am glad that he is resting in heaven now. I couldn't concentrate in class because I kept remembering him. I cried and cried for days. I took a couple of days off from school because I felt to horrible to even think about working in class. Thank you

at my school we have to fufill Gen-Ed requirments for the university and then the colleges (ie engineering college) tack on more requirments....
International diversity focus- taken with either socail science or humanity (6 credits)
Social Science- 6 credits
Humanities- 9 credits
Computation/Math- 6 credits
Biological/Physical Science- 12 credits
Composition- 3 credits
plus Tech writing(3 credits) and one programming class(2 credits)...so that's at least 41 credits of required course work....

41 credits of required course work? That is a lot of courses! How do people finish all those courses in a given amount of time? What kind of engineer do you want to be? I will be praying that things go well for you.

Oh honey, I'm so sorry. I know exactly how that feels. I lost my cousin when he was only 17. We were all really close.

Yeah, your school makes you take a lot of core courses too john14v6.

So maybe my school isn't quite so bad. But at least you guys don't have to take UNIV 101 or IDIS 102 or 400! Trust me, you don't even want to know what they are!
*jumps up and down* what is it? what is it? jk I might not have to take those courses if I change schools. That is to transfer to a university. I might just attend a vocational school to have a new start. I'll get more hands on training, less general education, and it is funner then taking all general ed courses at once.

I can understand how you feel... But don't you think it's great to learn so many things ?I think I would've love to study aerospace engineering, but eventually i'm studying electronics, and i'm finding my way...
5 years is the average too in France. How many years left for you ? Hopefully, i'll graduate in june 2006 (or maybe september...).

About my next semester classes...mmh, well, i don't remember well (our system is quite different here). I'll have mathematics (probability&statistics ), signal processing, analogical electronics, computational physics (and it seems this class is in english never tried that !!!) etc. etc. about 30 to 36 hours a week.
