This doesn't surprise me. 2 of the most difficult books out. I am reading The Sword of the Prophet by Serge Trifkovic, Beyond the Shattered Image by John Chryssavgis, Contemporary Moral Issues (facing the Orthodox Christian) by Stanley Harakas, Touchstone magazine, First Things magazine, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy (again). Also daily devotionals by the Fellowship of St. James (which takes you through the entire Bible), Nancy Drew mysteries to my daughter, and some of the Arabian Nights to both my kids.

The Sword of the Prophet is a book on the "history, theology, and impact on the world" of Islam. I wanted to be more informed on Islam, and this book is put out by Regina Orthodox Press, so I trust it more.

Beyond the Shattered Image is about the Orthodox view on environmentalism, which is another area I wanted clarification on. It's published by Light and Life Publishing.

I just finished "The Mass of the Early Christians" which I highly recommend. It covers the liturgy and belief of the Real Presence in the Eucharist up until around the 400s. I think you all would enjoy it. Now, I just started "The Rapture Trap" a book on the Catholic view of 'end times' and also the history behind the Rapture theory.

For the second time, "Ultimate Things: An Orthodox Christian Perspective on the End Times." By Dennis Engleman. Wonder book.

Have you read A Second Look at the Second Coming by TL Frazier? It was recommended to me by a priest, and I just wondered how you might compare them.

Jukes, you might like From Darkness to Light, How One Became A Christian in the Early Church, by Anne Field. She's Catholic, but it's published by Conciliar Press (Orthodox)

I wonder how the Catholic and Orthodox views on the end times correlate. We'll have to compare notes.

Sweet!  I got my hands on "The Mass of the Early Christian" I think I'll start reading it today =)

Now, I just started "The Rapture Trap" a book on the Catholic view of 'end times' and also the history behind the Rapture theory.

Here's an interesting book:

The Last Days Are Here Again: A History of the End Times

Personally though, I think Scott Hahn's treatment on the End times is by far the most sound and biblical interpretation as outlined in his The Lamb's Supper =)

And I think Orthodox Christians will enjoy it too =)

God bless!
