  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What are the various considerations?

Why phrase it in the negative? This is a design issue - the best fit for the person or for the family.

Designing up - not escaping.

I can't think of any.
The issues I am sensitive to and concerned with are issues that all groups are susceptible to if run by human beings.

When run by monkeys, however....

Service and safety are important to me; it's not always the case that I can satisfy both in the same place, but I often find that when I can satisfy safety, service flows really easily.

Part of our confusion is the illusion that belief affects identity. There's nothing we can do to change our identity - we are children of God.

Said more simply, you couldn't believe your way out of heaven if you tried - or into it. But your beliefs greatly affect your life - and the lives of the people around you.
