I think Jesus wanted people to think outside the box, and get rid of the dogma within their religion. In this instance God spoke through Jesus and people still did not listen. They chose their dogma over truth. Did the Pharisees in the bible listen to Jesus, even after he performed miracles? IMO God does not care about religion, he cares about your personal journey. Why should God be involved in the arguments of men who are not interested in putting aside their selfishness and desire to be justified within their religion more than they desire to change and learn personally?Agreed! When G-d was here in flesh, Jesus railed against the religious of His day, and didn't start a new religion. What do you make of that?
Actions are a result that reflect what you beleive to be true. Is he listening to the innner voice of God speaking to him? If so, would he apply that in his life or ignore it? Jesus said he was the way the truth and the life and no man goes to the Father but through him. Was he saying that God expects our journey to be about finding and applying what is true... or that we must continulally reiterate the name of Jesus, 'knowing' his identity. How would saying someones name over and over again save someone, while ignoring the truth within? Why would it be necessary for God to even explain this?
Where exactly is Heaven anyway?
Read "case for Christ", and "case for the real Jesus" by Lee Strobel, he was an atheist, investigating Christianity because his wife became a Christian and he wanted to prove her wrong, in the process he became a believer.
While reading ask the Holy Spirit to open your mind to the truth.
these books really helped me.
God bless
My views are different than those of my fellow Christain.... I am asking because I think you already know the answer. You see, we all do already know if we just learn to listen..Hey you guys are the ones who believe in that heaven and hell stuff; why dont cha ask some of your fellow Christians?

I was not suggesting God continuously speak from the sky on a regular basis, I was just referring to him doing it once to clear things up.
Our faith is displayed in our actions. If you pour a cup of coffee in the morning, it is because you have faith that the coffees will land in the cup and not go splashing out the bottom of it all over your pants. You act on this faith you have in the process of pouring coffee into a cup. right?I disagree that our actions reflect what we believe to be true. Many who do wrong know it is wrong but because of personal weaknesses and character flaws, they do wrong anyway.
Again; if a person of the religion Zoroastrianism, or even a person of no religion at all; has behavior that is equal to the most righteous of Christians, does that mean he will go to heaven right alongside the Christian?

The answer to the last part of this question will become apparent when you tell me where Heaven is,I disagree that our actions reflect what we believe to be true. Many who do wrong know it is wrong but because of personal weaknesses and character flaws, they do wrong anyway.

You don't even understand the passage you are basing your demand on!Did you and your "international fellowship" experience God addressing the entire world at once in a language that each of us can understand and clear up the misunderstandings we have of him? No! So what I am speaking of did not happen.
Ken
He already did! He ID'd Jesus as His Son, and told us to listen to Him.

Some of Jesus' words could be understood to say "yes" to this, but are not clear and decisive enough to give us Doctrinal certainty. This is a statement all by itself! Incidentally, what little I know of Zoroaster, he probably heard from God. (Not saying the religion stayed pure)

If you read iut again you will see that over-hearing people talk to God in tongues left them all in doubt and confusion (vv12-13).
When Peter explained what I explained to you, they understood and 3000 were added, then the gentiles got the same message (Acts 8, 10, 19 etc).
Tongues also remains a sign to unbelievers such as yourself Ken. That's why the bible says that 2 or 3 gifts of tongues should be operated in public meetings of the Church. I hope you follow the witnesses God has provided Ken, they will lead you to salvation. If you choose not to follow then I'm afraid that we are God's witnesses against you.
Pouring liquid into a container is not done because people are thinking of the things you mention. When my son was three he poured his milk into a cup because he trusted from experience that it would work. You already have the truth of God, you just need to pull it out of yourself. The fact that gravity will continue to be in effect when pouring a cup of coffee is NOT an act of faith. That is an expectation backed up by reason, logic, and emprical evidence.
Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as
The study of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.
Things backed up by reason, logic, and emprical evidence is not unseen, it's not faith, that's what we call proof.

I believe that God is the energy that is behind all time and space which is infinite. This does not only apply to our material dimention but to all dimentions of existence conceptual and material. If you did beleive in a God where is Heaven... (yes I believe there is Heaven)Okay here is MY opinion on the issue.
I don't believe Hell, Heaven, God, or the devil exists. I believe these are man made constructs often used to control people.
BUT I am asking questions to people who do believe in these things so when I ask questions about their belief, I phrase the question in the context that these places and characters actually existing.
Now I realize Christian beliefs vary from person to person so I will assume you don't believe heaven actually exists since you had ask of it's location; is that correct? if so, do you believe in Hell, God, or the Devil?
