I'm sorry, Gray, I have a really bad memory, but...Do I know you froma thread or anywhere? You seem...so familiar...
Anyways now that my mojo is back, I'm concentrating on the Sky King of Arenia. You guys should contribute your ideas and such to the creation of my new world--I mean, to this RPG.
That RP could have promise. I'm a fan of RPs, even though it's been a long time since I've been in one. I think the main thing is that we need to expand the range of topics for the RPs, instead of simply recycling similar stories with just a twist or two. For example, I enjoy Lord of the Rings, some anime (action/ comedy at least, because those genres lendcreativity to the story, and who doesn't like humor), and generally new stories set in somewhat familiar settings. To use LOTR as an example, what about a new storyline set a few hundred years after the War of the Ring, and now the races must band together to stop a worse evil than before? Sure, it's admittedly limiting itself, because some things will be rehashed, but it may be worth a shot. I have a few more ideas rattling around in the ol' noggin, but I'm curious to hear other ideas. You know, I wouldn't mind trying another League of Aldonadi thread. But, I won't head it up. I'll be happy to throw out as many ideas and as much information as needed, but I'm not going to head it. Those threads tend to peter out pretty quickly, as I mentioned above.
The basic concept is a futuristic fantasy centered around a league of swordsmen who use magical swords.
The Boarding School idea sounds familiar, and I may have a few characters that could fit in there if I get the time to flesh them out. That's another area we could look for ideas: comic books. Who doesn't love a good story where one can be their favorite superhero? That sounds interesting, Shadow. I wouldn't mind joining it myself, but I'm not going to head it, considering I know nothing of the original, nor do I have any experience with that particular genre.
I was thinking we could revive two RPGs that never actually got off the ground. Even if only a few people joining with multiple characters, it would eventually bring a lot of bloodflow back to the RPGing section. Shadow remembers the two RPGs I'm about to mention, and he and Cheat (now The Scribe) co-headed one when I was absent.
The two RPGs are DNAnimals and the Boarding School For the Gifted: A New Generation. The Boarding School was successful, but due to the RPGing sections death (and alot of other things out of people's control) it eventually died into obscurity, despite being a personal favorite of mine. I read through the very short piece of DNAnimals and although I liked the idea myself when I came up with it, I'm not sure I would be able to contribute much, since I was not (originally) on board for the entire RPG.
So, those are two ideas we could go with if people were willing to do so.

Hey, I've got another idea. What do you guys think of a Pokemon and Digimon crossover?
In the DigiWorld, a hacker has been defeated. However, unable to take his life, the heroes allow the hacker to escape.
The hacker, although humbled, refuses to give up. Learning of another computer world for Pokemon, he decides to attempt to take over their world instead.
Up until this point, the fact that the people in the Pokemon world were living in a computer program has been kept silent. But now that the hacker has invaded their world, they must accept this truth and join forces with the heroes of the digimon world to defeat this villain.
I don't know much about Kamen Rider. I don't believe I've even heard of it until you brought it up. Also, the words in yellow are very hard on the eyes.
We've roleplayed together on a few occasions. I probably wouldn't have recognized you if you had changed your avatar either.
You know, Gary, er, Gray, wait, no, I'ma gonna call you Gary.
You know, Gary, I'd like to do a round of Super Heroes Anonymous. It was a game fifty posts long that dealt with a bizarre global dilemma with bizarre super heroes. The knack to it was that you didn't get to choose your character. Someone else gave you your Super hero name, and you had to make up the details based on the name.
I always had a blast with it. Let me post up the OOC. It has a whole lot of rules, but it's easy enough once you get the concept.
OOC:Superheroes Anonynous
Um, wow. That's alot of Super Sentai Kamen Riders.
Not to be rude, but...I'm not really interested in it, nor do I think I ever will be. The last time I watched a Super Sentai show was Power Rangers Turbo when I was six. Now that I'm 18, I really have no further interest in it (except sometimes it's funny to see how the guy who played Tommy is drafted to play characters in other Power Rangers)
Right now, I'm focusing (as alot of other people are) on reviving the RPG forum on a grand scale. Since no one here has even heard of Kamen Rider before you showed up, I really don't think that an RPG centered around something we know little to nothing about can contribute to a revival in the RPG section, unless somehow we were able to get a Kamen Rider fanclub going up here, draft members from other websites, bring them in on the promise of a Kamen Rider RPG, subsequently train them how to RPG effectively, and somehow get them to help us in an RPG revival.
Which is probably a long shot.
Again, I don't mean to offend, I just don't see how we can RP something we no nothing about, nor do I see how it helps us in our goal.
Superheroes Anonymous does sound fun, but I appreciate more action-oriented RPs as well. I've been thinking about a LOTR RP set after the defeat of Sauron, but for the life of me, I seem to be unable to come up with a convincing villain that could tie in to the story.Sounds interesting, but I personally would rather have an RP with a more serious tone. I like to have character and story developement and drama.
If we could do both, though, I would join Superheroes Anonymous. It would certainly be entertaining.
I had an idea! I typically like RPGs were people have to take refuge and be sneaky and such, because I like that particular writing style.
I'm thinking about a group of people called the Branded--only a handful of them exist. I'm trying to think of a distinguishing quality as to why their branded, most likely I think it'll be the offspring of an angel and a human. Their Brand takes form of an intricate symbol that resides somewhere on their body.
And this country is tracking them down and trying to kill them because their afraid of the supernatural or something like that. It's just an idea, someone can take it and run with it.
