I still have a character for DNAnimals who I never used. I could go back and find her profile.
...That's another area we could look for ideas: comic books. Who doesn't love a good story where one can be their favorite superhero?
I've actually had a superhero RPG in the past. I believe it was my longest running RPG here. However, it was not based on any comic, but the superheroes were all original heroes designed for the RP.
We could revive that RP, or else we could start a new one sort of like it.
Here was the main story as was developed through my RP (there were some other characters in different places, but only one story lasted):
My character Mark "Blackout" Plenty was from the future. In his future, a war was being fought between good and evil. His family and countless others were caught in the middle of this war while on an innocent vacation trip to the moon.
The group that captured him experimented on him, programming his body to replace its organic parts with robotic ones, slowing transforming him into a machine. He was rescued, but not before he had to watch both of his parents die in front of him.
Hearing from one of the guards about another experiment on board, a time machine, Mark refused to follow his rescuers and sent himself into the past after downloading information about those responsible for the crimes against him.
Unfortunately, Mark sent himself too far into the past. But he still wouldn't give up on his mission. Instead, he set out to kill off the forefathers of his targets so that they would never be born.
After one of his missions, Mark was captured by a hero named Dark Angel and was forced to behave. In exchange for not sending him to jail, Mark offered her some information about her future. But as Dark Angel was encountered by her enemies, Mark made a terrifying discovery. The scientists trying to reclaim Dark Angel were from the very organization that Mark was trying to destroy.
Apparently, the Secret Human Enhancement Organization (S.H.E.O.) had existed longer than the history files said. Mark reveals that SHEO takes people and forces them to endure through their superhuman experiments, usually inserting bombs into their bodies or threatening those they love in order to keep them quiet. Through the years, SHEO grew throughout the world, secretly plotting to take over the world. And in Mark's future, they were successful in taking control of nearly half of the world.
And so Mark teams up with Kane the "Dark Angel" and others to bring a stop to it before they grow too powerful.
Now, if this is revived, we could say that Mark split up with the others, fighting SHEO solo. And because of their divided power, or else because they never really had a chance, they were unable to stop SHEO from taking over the US government, as well as many other world powers.
The main objective would be for the heroes to fight in the war against SHEO. But in my old RP, I didn't want everyone in the same place. I allowed groups to form to create their own unique stories to move independently of the others. I don't know if we've got enough people for that to work this time, but I would like to try it.
