I absolutely agree with you. And yet, I feel that compulsion... I'm such a sucker.I am not interested in Valentines day. It tries to force people into buying stuff that cost 3 x more than they do the next day.
We celebrate being together 4 years a few days before and I think thats far more worth celebrating that a hallmark holiday.
It's true. Men are made to feel like they have to do something sweet, like chocolates, flowers, or jewelry. Other than cards, I don't think I've ever actually gone out and chosen a real gift for a guy on Valentine's day.Women have it a lot easier than men do when it comes to Valentine's Day. That's just a general comment, not one that's directed to any of the women who have posted in this thread.
I never know what to buy him though. Women's gifts are typical, men's aren't.
That's all we need.Exactly! My husband doesn't use cologne, or wear jewelry. What do you guys enjoy getting on valentines day? Let us know, so we can get it right.
Usually I just make a romantic dinner, light candles and play soft music. And I use it as an excuse to buy myself a new nightie!
Mmmm...chocolate.Oooh Yay! I love Valentines day!!!
I wonder what FB has planned for us.... a romantic getaway to Vegas!
Actually I would like some Godiva chocolates..
I agree. I feel like Valentines is really only for those that haven't been together long enough to have a real anniversary (We will celebrate 17 years this year). We do celebrate it because the children like Valentines. We'll make heart shaped cookies and stuff and I'll make a special dessert for dinner. My DH will buy each of the children one of those heart shaped boxes with about 6 candies in it.I am not interested in Valentines day. It tries to force people into buying stuff that cost 3 x more than they do the next day.
