Hey JM hope you're well, it's been a long time since we spoke last.
I have been raiding the Open Theist home world incognito of late due to issues with logging in (hope you get my drift)
I clicked on this tread just to have a look see what's up, I haven't even clicked on a video as yet, but I intend to watch all 3.
I checked the verse on my phone, read it, scrolled down to see if there where any written comments, and saw your post, and it just popped into my mind, like a light bulb switching on, that this verse could be applicable within a discussion regards eternal justification, seeing as we would normally apply this verse in the sense that the "..towards us-ward, not willing that any should perish.." is restricted to the elect only, with no universal application. My thought was that that could be utilised within a discussion on eternal justification (if you get my meaning)
I know we have discussed that in the past, and I'm not looking to go down that road again, I was just curious on how you would have dealt with that, that's all.
But what did catch my immediate attention was your video regards infant baptism.
I remembered that you were a very strong advocate for a credible confession of faith, and so not in agreement with infant baptism.
But I did remember checking out the board again, as I would do from time to time, and I recall seeing a comment, from you, indicating that you had a change of heart on that matter, and that it was a long hard fought internal struggle to concede that particular point... I found that very intriguing, so I will pay close attention to this video post.
Anyways, just saying.

It is true I've become Lutheran confirmed Mar 2024. After wrestling with Scripture and Church history I could no longer hold to a Baptist perspective. I am happily attending a confessional, conservative congregation in the LCMS English District where I am on the evangelism committee and altar guild. Once I accepted baptismal regeneration, the monergistic act of God working by the Word through water, infant baptism made sense.


This verse is addressed to the "Beloved" v.1. and "beloved" v.8. Clearly Peter is addressing Christians.

Hello BBAS 64 hope all is well with you.
That is a most excellent presentation... I have not had the pleasure of watching and listening to Jim McClarty before and am very impressed by his calm and thoughtful approach, balanced with a finely tuned dramatic presence, which is very engaging, and not in the least bit abrasive or combative... impressive.

I particularly liked (at the 13:30 mark) the way he bridged the issue of God's longsuffering regards the non-elect, and tying that in, as an expression, of God's grace, despite the condemnation that unavoidably awaits them as judgment for their sin (by God's decree)... of course, as you would be aware, there is some contention within Reformed thinkers on that matter... I only make mention of that, so as to acknowledge the variation of opinion that does exist regards the "well meant offer" within the minds of some.
I will definitely be checking out his website.
