I've received word that Erwin will change the name of this forum, currently titled "Midlife Christians" which was designed for members in their forties, if enough members want it changed, and choose a new name.

Okay Andry. I'm assuming you voted "other" then. I'll make a note of it. You'd prefer the one more like the Super Heros than the Beatles. Got it.

I omitted that one because nobody said anything when I suggested it. And the poll only allows for 10 options. So, I had to omit one. Figured it was better omitting one of mine than someone elses.

Oblivious, there are other people outside of the 40 bracket who've been posting in here. One that I've personally notices is 37 and one is in their 60's? There isn't any computer programing in place to not let you post if you want to.

But, I hear you. If the name is age specific, people under 40 might feel excluded. Maybe we should consider that when we vote for a name.

I personally don't have a problem with you posting in here. Until someone tells you you're not...just consider yourself welcome. That's how I feel about it anyway.

I also want to say that this forum was presented as a forum for people in their 40's because they were the only age group that didn't already have a forum to post in.

But, I'm not on staff. I only know what I know from reading the posts about it.

Don't get me wrong, I love you thirtysomethings I was once one myself! I think to include people in their thirties would make the forum too broad. The appeal to me is that it is for people like me, going through their forties. I'll join the "Golden Agers" when I reach fifty.

I think that there are unique life experiences for 30's and unique life experiences for people in their 40's. The challenges and experiences of being in our forties is what I would like to talk about and respond to.

Perhaps you can lobby Erwin for a 30's forum??

BTW - I have changed my vote and I like the Fantastic Forties - I thnk it is more gender neutral and we do want both sexes to participate in this forum
