• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

When I want to do somethings, I will always get a dream that I make a promise to God not to do or sold a soul to the devil for those thing . And also I always get sleep paralysis. Have any one with ocd suffer this? Do I need to worried? Can we sold a soul in dreams and can't remembered any detail? I hate what happened to me. I want to be a good christian but ocd just make my thought so bad.
*sorry for my bad english.

If you are having vivid dreams or are suffering from sleep paralysis it has no effect on your spiritual wellbeing, aside from the emotions you are feeling about it. It's something you should see a doctor about.

I used to have those same thoughts but Jesus set me free by realizing that only Jesus can save me and that God owns everything.

I think with OCD, our minds often make associations related to our obsessive topic, just because we're thinking about it so much. That includes dreaming about it. I think we have to learn to handle dreams the way we handle other times that our obsession bothers us - realize that it's our OCD making us afraid that we've done something wrong, and ignore it.

I hope you're able to get some support and help for your OCD. I can't remember if I've asked you, but would you be interested in joining the Facebook group "Christianity and Anxiety Disorders"? You might get advice that is more targeted toward OCD, since a lot of the people on there have OCD themselves (particularly religious OCD). Also, feel free to pm anytime if you want!
