Use The Report Button!

I agree Woo--didn't we go thru this same thing over a year ago with the "Progressives"?

For the record, I have never used the report button or complained about anyone on this forum to the mods. I have also never used the ignore feature on anyone.

I believe in free speech and the right to open debate and dialogue, even if it offends me or I don't agree with it.



Let the forum participants decide which approach they desire from thier co-posters.

the mods are becoming aware about the issues in the SDA chruch. They are bing educated about what goes on here. They increasingly are making better decisons about what is going on here. I know the trend will contiune.

You know, I think about all Tall has done for us and our freedom on this forum as an Adventist moderator, and yet people still want to complain and cry out for stricter control, critcizing the mods, implying they are incompetent

Tall was never a mod in the SDA forum; he was a mod in the Theology forums, and I was here. Now that I have resigned, there are no Adventists on staff.

Yes, he has. We both have argued for freedom to post on certain topics of interest to Adventists, which are currently outlawed and/or limited to a couple of forums outside of the Christians-only areas.

I agree that they are underused. I havn't ever used one. Maybe for the same reason most people havn't. You don't want to dob them in. If you not going to let mods handle it, the best option, you should send a PM saying you didn't appreciate that. Don't be scared, reporting is annonymus.. I'm with you woobs.

That's right. You can question, seriously in theology type style. Or you can just barge in bagging and teasing the beliefs.

Both challenges of beliefs. Yet only one is appropraite....

Where is maco? Where is Country Doc? Where is loveaboveall? There is another precious older lady whose name I cannot remember. Where are our peacemakers? We should be free to say what we wish, but say it in love.

What is your ultimate goal here? Is it to go to heaven, and bring others with you? or is it to prove that you are the one that is right?

Night has a good point. If y'all start running and tattle-tailing everytime somebody puts you in a snit, I am afraid what you will wind up with is a much more inhibited forum where open discussion of issues is concerned. I for one enjoy reading these uninhibited discussions.

There is enough attitude here on both sides. Whoob, I don't think we get to say who is or is not a brother in Christ. And Night, you can have a way of wording things that can get under somebody's fingernails. We are all supposed to be grown ups here who should be able to moderate themselves.

OK - taking off the mommy hat now. I respect the amount of study that both of your posts show. It is one reason I enjoy this forum, till the fussing starts.

One more thing, I am not SDA, so if I just broke a rule please forgive me.

Good post. You're correct that it seems sometimes we just want to be right. Instead of looking for the real things we should be. Good post, someone had to say it.

I am reopening this thread after clean up.

I would like to make a few comments.
To begin with I wish to thank all of you who have so warmly welcomed me. Even those that I have had to contact in my duties have been very kind, considerate and helpful.
As all of you know I am not an Adventist. I am attempting to learn as much about Adventism as possible. It is necessary for me to at least have a working knowledge in order to identify flames etc.

Concerning my moderating style: I strongly attempt to facilitate communication in any way that I can. I have a degree in communications and am working on an advance degree in communications. My goal here is to help the forums in the sometimes very difficult job of disagreeing with each other amicably and respectfully. It is not always easy to do so.

Please feel free to use the report button if you feel a CF violation has occurred. Each of you know what is too much for you and what you believe crosses the line. I assure you that I will get to each report. I cannot promise that I will always take the action that you feel is called for but you have my word that I will take actions I believe are fair and in keeping with CF Rules.

If any of you feel that I have made an error. Please feel free to contact me. I will do my best to get back to everyone. Also feel free to go up the chain of command if I do not satisfy your concern. My immediate supervisors for the time being are Higgs2 and Erin74. Both of these ladies are very knowledgeable, experienced and graceful in carrying out their duties and I do not hesitate to take and heed their counsel.


Finally I ask you for your patience. Lately there are a large number of SDA reports. This combined with the need to education myself about Adventism and the fact that moderators are scarce, and the fact that I moderate three other fora, results in a slower response time than I would like.

I look forward to getting to know each of you, and learning more about the Adventism. (I use to work at Harding Hospital for any of you who may know what that was.)

Oh - and I'm not sure about graceful, but I do try hard to be gracious. Trying to picture myself moderating in a tutu.
