As some of you know I am a long time Pastor and teacher in Bible Colleges & Seminaries. I have a son who is 27. He asked me when he was 3 1/2 years old if he could accept the Lord as a child. From that time there have been numerous signs in his life that he did indeed understand his need for salvation, was saved and experienced the Holy Spirit working in his life.
In point of fact, he has shown signs of being greatly gifted of the Holy Spirit towards ministry. If you are familiar with A.W.A.N.A. he started in Cubbies at age three and went all the way through High School earning his Citation award for all his work in memorizing Scripture and theology. At the same time that he received his Citation Award he also received his 5th year Leader award because he was working as a leader teaching younger classes and being the coach of their Bible Quiz teams.
Ye has announced to us that in August he is getting married (in Las Vegas) to a women who is 5 years older than he is, as well as being a vocal Atheist. They met on the Internet and have been cooresponding for a year and a half online. He secretly moved her out here from Michigan qand they have been living as a married couple (without being married) for a month.
When I have tried to talk with him about it, it has done no good, because he knows all the arguments from Scripture, and doesn't care. He doesn't show a bit of conviction of his sin or a need to repent. At this point the situation needs to be brought before the Throne of Grace continuously, that the Holy Spirit will convict them both of the wrongness of whaat they are doing.
