  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Please Note this article: Tucker Carlson: Why did the people in charge let Kenosha be destroyed?
It has a lot of interesting detail about the burning of Kenosha and aftermath of misreported news..

from the article:
"Kyle Rittenhouse shot men he believed were trying to kill him. Now, why did Kyle Rittenhouse believe that, you may ask? Well, in one case, the man he shot told him so directly, "I plan to kill you." Of the other two men Kyle Rittenhouse shot, one repeatedly bashed him in the head with a skateboard as he lay on the ground. The other stuck a loaded gun in his face. So Kyle Rittenhouse fought back in order to save his own life."

RITTENHOUSE TRIAL: JURORS TO RESUME DELIBERATIONS THIS MORNING: LIVE UPDATES

We're not guessing about that, even the prosecution's witnesses made that point. So once that happened, once Kyle Rittenhouse's life was threatened on the street in Kenosha, what were his options exactly? Well, he could fight back, or he could allow himself to be murdered by the rioters. And allowing himself to be murdered by the rioters is essentially what the prosecution has argued:

Notice in this next article the prosecution argues "everyone takes a beating" as the "defense" for the idea that when armed men are chasing you - - saying they want to kill you -- you might want to just let them beat you and hope they "don't do worse" as your "allowed posture of defense".

Prosecutor Says Rittenhouse Should Have Let Mob Attack Him Because 'Everybody Takes a Beating Sometimes'

So then in the riots about 100 people were armed and many of them "unhappy". About 10 people had AR-15's.

During the trial it was revealed that Rittenhouse had one legally that he did not take across state lines. hmm that was "news" given all the other news speculating that the opposite was the case.

The Kenosha riot was initially over the case of Jacob Blake who was armed with a knife while resisting arrest - according to his own testimony. Apparently his own family called the police to try and stop him from being violent.

When police tried to arrest Blake he apparently reached into his car to get the knife he had just dropped while police instructed him not to do that. Kind of a confusing situation in my POV.

All that violence is very saddening and reflects the state of mankind in need of the Gospel in my opinion.

==============================================
Will America seriously entertain "obey the criminals" policy during riot situations when cities like Kenosha are burning?

Tucker Carlson gives a short summary of the questions/issues

It seems that some can no longer tell the difference between peaceful protest and "mob riot" - but that is not all of America that is getting confused about such an easy difference ... it is just "some".... right?

Towards the end of this Carlson summarizes this as "hurting the weak to appease the strong"

==================================

Given the violence and harm seen in these video examples -- We need to consider "doing better" and maybe that starts with placing "Christian" in Christian nation with "Love your neighbor as yourself" taking center stage.

OOPS not reliable again

False media reporting that Rittenhouse transported rifle 'across state lines' leads to corrections, mockery
Reuters, CBS News, Washington Post among outlets who've corrected reporting

I think now that "self defense" has been established by this case we're going to see people like Kyle's victims use self defense against people like Kyle going forward.

Irrelevant to the question asked. Why didn't anyone stop the rioting in Kenosha? That is a valid question regardless who asks.

I guess Kyle was there to "stop it." He failed and sent two souls to the great beyond. Should have stayed home. He is a gun-toting killer. He toted a gun and killed people.

They all should have stayed home. ALL of them. The rioters. Those looting and burning buildings. The criminal types who showed up, like Rosenbaum. Kyle and his friends. Everyone should have been home. The police should have been on the job, as usual.
