Inside our sancturary, along one wall there are pictures of all the veterans who lost their lives in the service of our country. One Sunday morning, little Johnny was looking at all the pictures really hard. The Pastor was amused by Johnny's intent study of the pictures so he said, "Johnny, what do you think of our veterans?" Johnny asked, "Pastor, who are these guys?" "They are the veterans who died while in service" the Pastor repilied. "Oh" says Johnny, then past a moment of determined consideration and pondering, and Johnny asked "Pastor, when they died, was it the early service or the late service?"
