In a book which was included in the Syrian Orthodox canon of scripture from time to time in history, "The Apocalypse of Baruch", aka 2 Baruch, contains an interesting interaction between Baruch and the Lord. God has just finished telling Baruch about a future time of tribulation which will come upon earth to put an end to sin and bring in a new era of righteousness. Baruch asks God how long that period of tribulation will be. God's answer seems a bit cryptic to us now, but in Hebrew parlance perhaps less so...

Apocalypse of Baruch 28:1, "Whosoever understandeth shall then be wise. For the measure and reckoning of that time are two parts a week of seven weeks."

As I understand it, the word for "week" in Hebrew is the same as the word for "seven". So I take "a seven of seven sevens" to mean a "week" of 49 years, follow? If we understand a figurative week as seven parts, each part being its own week of years, you have 49 years. However, the "tribulation" concerning which Baruch and the Lord as speaking is only "two parts of a week of seven sevens". What could "two parts" consist of? Here's how I've worked it out:

That seven turns up a lot in ancient Scriptural writings.
The Church will be removed before that can begin [Psalm 75:2,3], and the Church will be celebrating in the Holies in heaven's temple, behind shut doors [Lev 8], for the entire seven years, celebrating the consecration of their priesthood in their beautiful garments [regenerated bodies, glorified], "made for beauty and for Glory" [typed by Aaron and sons garments], and standing before the High Priest and their "Everlasting Father" [Isaiah 9], Jesus Christ.

In the Living Oracles those seven years are typed and shadowed as a "week", and we know that it is the week of years which comprise the great tribulation.

Psalm 75:2,3 When I laqach the congregation the world and all its inhabitants will be dissolved. I bear up [re-set/reorder] the pillars of it.

the congregation =the Church, which is composed of the redeemed of Israel who were never cut off for unbelief, as branches, from the Name, and the redeemed Gentiles who were grafted into the name by belief.

the gathering together of all the congregation, to the LORD, is to come before that seven years can even begin.

to "laqach" is to remove from the midst, go get, fetch, marry, etc.
the world and its inhabitants dissolving is that complete change of the world and the powers that rule it in the heavenlies, which will come about as a result of the great tribulation; which tribulation is for the removal of the wicked and sinners, by great judgments, to cleanse the earth for the Millennial Sabbath rest of its peace.

THe gathering together of the entire congreation [the dead in heaven and the living on earth] is to be called by the two trumpets sounding twice together, as Numbers 10:1-7 teaches in the living oracles.

They will be called from heaven above and earth beneath at that time of the trumpets sounding twice together, as Psalm 50 states; and the dead in Christ who come from heaven receive their resurrected bodies from the dust of this present creation, regenerated, when they come with Him in the air; and the living saints receive their regenerated bodies at the second sounding of the two trumpets together, as Isaiah 26:19-21 states.

Then we who are called by the two trumps all go in by Jesus' invitation [Isaiah 26:19-21], and shut our doors behind us, and party for seven years =a week of years, in heaven's holies.

More on that removal from the midst [the laqach], that must come, before those final seven years can begin: that passage in Psalms does tell us that we who watch and pray to be counted worthy to escape all these things coming, and to stand before the Son of Man, as priests in His temple, will be removed before the LORD re-orders the powers in the heavenlies, and on earth and over earth, by the tribulation of the last seven years.

Psa 75:2 When I laqach the congregation I will judge[vindicate] uprightly [with equity].
Psa 75:3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: takan the pillars of it. Selah.
takan, ...3 to set up, to fix, by a level.
Jesus will make the pillars of earth "right", when He casts down the principalities and powers and rulers of darkness in heavenly places, who are set over earth in this present creation, since the babel dispersion [He set seventy over the nations at that time]; and He will reset the pillars in righteousness, when the Congregation is joined to the heavenly Watchers who reside in Zion, in their regenerated "priesthood", sons of God garments of New Man image, to be rulers with the Watchers, from there, over earth, for the millennial reign.
In Enoch and in the OT, these powers are also called "mountains" and "hills", at times, and "angels", and "stars".

Is it possible that the two parts have been divided up?

Could it be that 1290 and 1335 in Daniel 12 represents the first half and the second half of the 70th week respectively?

According to Josephus, was it the temple that fell 30 days after Jerusalem or Jerusalem that fell 30 days after the temple?

Could the 1290 be in reference to the events of 66-70AD, followed by a looonnnggg pause in regards to Israel to allow the church to come in, and then the 2nd half of the 70th week begins in the near future that involves 1335 days?

It's interesting that together there is an extra 3 1/2 months over and above 7 years.

Check out my thread entitled "IF".
