Jesus speaks of the day in which we'll be raptured, and not the actual event. He tells us what his coming will be like, and the things that will precede it.

I see that my question mark after the word rapture has given all the idea that it's a topic of this thread.
I realize that you (all) had no way to know what I intended. As I explained in another post response, I had only mentioned it in general, while the issue of the two men in bed was my focus.

So, okay we'll talk about the rapture.

Although I used the word rapture, the question mark after it was to allow for those who thought the verses of "taken" considered it to be about rapture, because it's a common thought among Christians.

The "taken" we know of is, "He will be taken out of the way. Then the anti-christ will be revealed."

In Luke 17 and the word "taken", I have my reservations of whether Jesus is referring to the rapture. His audience at the time were the Jews, they have a different path to follow. The apostle Paul told the Christians about a rapture.

I believe that His revealing would be His Second Coming. When He comes to rapture the Body of Christ, He is not revealed.

In verses before 17:30 Jesus mentioned two events that were disastrous for those who were left behind. That, in terms of future events, could refer specifically to the Second Coming and what happens at Armageddon. That event fits more closely with the vultures that gather.

I realize everyone believes differently on things. Not trying to change anyone's views. Just giving mine.

Its only in our time of so much wealth that we have enough bedrooms and beds that we sleep alone much of the time. Go back 100 years and people often crowded into a bed to stay warm as there were no heated homes. There is a museum where I grew up that has an replica of an 1820 lumber camp. There was one bed and 18 men slept in that one long bed. The bedding was fir bows that went from one end of the building to the other.
So I think reading anything sexual into those verses is saying something that the Bible isn't even considering.

Thanks. I had thought of sharing beds in that way was a more likely possibility. I guess I wanted to know if anyone else did and if there was valid historical information about it.
