I'm trying to understand what (if anything) G-d is telling us in Gematria.
Could anyone tell me why the Hebrew "life" (בחיי , "Judah" (יהודה ,"kill" (הכה , "Ahitub/my Father is goodness" (אביטוב , "Chozeba/falsehood" (אכזב , "I lie" (אכזב , and "trust" (הבוטח ; and the Greek "ten" (δεκα all have a numerical value of 30?
While some of the words with this numerical value seem to have very different meaning, none of them (or at least none of the one's I'm aware of) seem to be exact polar opposites.
So what do they all have in common?
What is the underlying symbolic meaning of 30?
And what about ten?
Does it mean "woe" (הה , or "triumph" (גאו ?
Those are close to polar opposites, so perhaps I could conclude G-d is saying something about human choice, but if I do, am I lying to myself (because the Greek word for ten equals 30, and a word meaning "I lie" has a numerical value of 30)?
This is really giving me a headache.
Did G-d design all these number/word associations to mean something?
And why do the meanings of the words seem so inconsistent?
If anyone has any insight on this, please help.
