Secondly, the phrase "Black Lives Matter" is not meant to be at the detriment to other people's lives. It doesn't say White Lives don't matter. These people put that as a reminder that their lives are as important as anyone else's. Because they don't think you believe that. They honestly think that the average American believes their lives are expendable.

That's right...this "poor widow" lives on the "wrong side of the tracks". To some of the snobs around here, me and my family are "poor white trash"...

I remember once, on my way to a friend's house one evening, (she lives near me), I overshot her driveway...someone had thrown a rock through a streetlight...and pulled into the next street to turn around. Before I could put it in reverse, I had five young black kids standing around my car...one at each fender, and one at my window. Was I scared? A white woman alone in this neighborhood after dark? You betcha. Fortunately, my friend had seen my car and she came to my rescue.
Evidently, the group that surrounded my car thought I was there to buy some crack. I had stumbled into their spot, where they peddled their wares...and if my friend had not seen me, it could have cost me my life.
Oh...did I mention that my friend...an older widow lady, much like myself...is black?

Yes, and it goes both ways. My son was hit in the head with a bottle thrown from a car because he was walking in a "white neighborhood" with his black friend, a guy named Anthony, who has been like a son to me since he was a scrawny little kid of fifteen, and who has grown into a fine, handsome figure of a man. It took eight stitches to close the wound. I was pretty angry about it...but I don't think anyone was as angry about it as Anthony.
My daughter has been harrassed by a group of black kids....basically because she is a very pretty young lady. Anthony, who sees himself as her "big brother"..."handled the situation". We didn't see those boys again.
White people want to blame it all on blacks....black people want to blame it all on whites...and the bottom line truth is that both are at fault.
Has there been unecessary police violence against black suspects? Yes, there has...and yes, it is wrong, and yes, those officers ought to be punished. And many of them have been. Some have...and rightly so...lost their jobs.
But this...this nonsense about "pigs in a blanket" is just stupid...it is inciting violence. It is basically asking for a violent response from black people...and no one ought to be surprised when some silly black punk kid decides to, indeed, fry him some bacon. It's as if those people had tossed a lit match into a keg of dynamite...did you really think that it would not go "BOOM!"???

As for what happened so long ago, it was a sad thing, but it is over. There has been peace for a very long time. Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything that they don't want to do. Speak your own language, that's fine. Keep your own traditions. That's great. Don't live on the rez if you don't want to. Nobody will say a word to you about it. Worship in the old ways...as long as you aren't staking anyone out to appease some animal spirit or something...that might cause a bit of a problem...
