But the good news is normal people don't think like that. I suspect the most political hay that will be made out of this will be to motivate more of the literally-shaking shriekers to go out and vote in the midterms. I don't see many fence-sitters being convinced by this that the constant "the sky is falling and my hair is on fire and the world is ending" progressive outrage is actually correct. Normal people know that insane people exist across the political spectrum and don't represent anything but isolated examples of insanity.

Can't we all just come together on this issue, in relief that guy was caught before he could hurt anyone?

Let me guess, there's a few normal people on the left.

Obama lied about the ACA as well as those who invented it.

Actually, before the ACA when the people who didn't have insurance and had to use the healthcare system and could not afford to pay for it, those unpaid expenses were transferred to those who paid insurance through higher medical costs.

Well seeing as how journalists just received a bomb from a Trump devotee, it's head up the rear end stupid to "joke" about the assault on a journalist. The terrorist had been driving around in a van with depictions of CNN, Hillary, Obama, the other victims of his bombs, being subjected to violence. I'm sure there are folks who saw the van & thought it was funny too. It's not hyper sensitive of the left to think the "joke" was pathetically asinine & completely tone deaf & inappropriate. It's the reasonable response.

Well, I'm a Republican, so are my brothers, parents, grandparents. None of us have ever been called a Nazi white racist white supremacist. I've had more folks get their britches into a bunch, get all nasty & name-call, who are Republicans unhappy that I admire John McCain. Lol. Anybody who has been called a Nazi, racist, or white supremacist ought to genuinely reflect on their own behavior & if they did anything to prompt that instead of just self-victimizing.

Oh, they call you all those things by association you just haven't experienced it yet. Its like Jesus said "if they hated me they will hate you". The Left has gone ssooooo far off the reservation that even mild conservatives are despised!

I liked John McCain, but he was "used" by the Left because he spent a lot of time trying to cross the isle to be "liked". The media loved him when he would play the devils advocate against his own party, but when he ran for president "suddenly" not so much.

In the end McCain was bitter and resentful that Trump won and he couldn't. After all of McCain's noble life's work, he could only think of revenge against Trump in death.

Well now, you sure are dead wrong about that. See, I believe in personal accountability. If I'm called something, I look at what it is that I've done that has caused folks to call me that. If they haven't called ME that, I don't get my britches in a bunch about it. I don't personalize all statements made about Republicans just as I'm confident that mature, sensible folks on the left do not personalize the constant vitriol you've shown to liberals. They probably think it says a whole lot more about you than it does about them. The most nastiness thrown my way has been from Republican Christians, the same folks who act like they're persecuted victims on account on account of them being stereotyped on account of that exact behavior. I don't personalize that either since it's coming from folks sitting on their butts behind a screen who are irrelevant to me.
