Hello nothead. Do you believe in the trinity? I SAY if it WASN'T true, the PEOPLE never would have stood for it. It would have NEVER BECOME standard Christian doctrine. I'm kidding....

About circumcision...

"And when a stranger shall sojourn with thee, and will keep the passover to the LORD, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof." Exodus 12:48

A stranger only had to be circumcised if he wanted to eat of the Passover lamb. He could still celebrate Passover, as Yeshua commands us in Luke 22.

I can't really talk too much about Paul because this thread isn't about him. I'll revive an old post and you can join me there. How does that sound? Thank you.

The people in that case ate the Larvae of the Lie. It was a Greek thingybobber. And it bobbed most enticing to them. Just kidding, I THINK.

Hey thanks for replying. Yeah, the trinity was a Greek thing. And an Egyptian thing. And a Hindu thing. And a Babylonian thing. My point was, just because something is accepted by men, that does not mean something is correct. Paul hung out with the Apostles and the catholic church chose to include his epistles in canon, but that doesn't mean anything. Remember...

"And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel." Ezekiel 14:9

If Paul spoke against the Law, or if he enticed others to follow after gods that are not YHVH, he was a false prophet...

"If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for YHVH your God proveth you, to know whether ye love YHVH your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Ye shall walk after the YHVH your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him." Deuteronomy 13:1

The Scriptures know nothing of a trinitarian god. Nor did Paul, but I think he believed a form of Arianism, in that the Messiah "preexisted" and was "incarnated" as Yeshua. However, Paul doesn't use these unscriptural terms, so I don't know what he believed.

Hey you ain't cutting me THERE just to get a free meal, just kidding, SORTA sir. Oh heck. No SORTA about it sir.

I'm sure that's how the first gentile disciples felt, but I think you're misunderstanding the point. You do not have to be circumcised to follow the Law. The Jerusalem Council was only about circumcision, because the Jews felt it was appropriate for the Gentiles. Peter and James determined that this was not necessary, and their reason was...

"For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day." Acts 15:21

As a believer, we are supposed to learn the Law of God and apply this to our lives (the Jews expected the Gentiles to just follow the whole Law without learning why). If you should feel the desire to be circumcised in order to be obedient, then there is nothing wrong with that. If you choose not to, there is nothing wrong with thathe either. You just can't eat of the Passover meat, and since there isn't a temple, you don't have to worry about it anyways.

Aww. Mayb

Cool...I replied to the thread "Paul's Limited Understanding" if you'd like to join me there. Thank you.
