I so used to play that with my friends. We had a load of extra units bunged on top, like these construction tower things that built structures really quickly, and super fusion plants, and other crazy things. This thread has gotten me all nostalgic again... those were the days

i might dig out my old copy of the game now

ARM for the flash raid.....owns CORE unless they got a good enough defence........unless.....

Arm has the early advantage so a lot of Arm players win early. Core have to wait to get an advantage.

You mean the Nano-Towers? Yeah, they're great! The super fusions like the Alien Tech Fusion Reactor and MarcoCelerator give ya loads of energy... and who can forget the KrogTaar or Peewee's Revenge!

Owns CORE unless they have Immolators and the Commander nearby... how good are you on the D-Gun? Famed N00b map Metal Heck lets you stand on the ledges and D-Gun the poor things without taking hardly any damage!

True... but not with the Immolators and Levelers. Of course, if you're fast on the D-Gun you can hold off raids with just the Comm and one or two towers, or on some maps just the Comm.

Levelers cost a lot, much more that Flashes at least. You have 3 Flashes for every 2 Levelers, and it keeps increasing. Immolaters I'm sure its the same.

Dragon's Teeth Fortified weapons especially HLT's will own flashes!

Maybe true, but once I get 20-30 Imms or Levs up, the Flash raids stop. Especially on the newbie map (Metal Heck)... just climb a little incline with the Comm, wait for Flashes to surround you and D-Gun away

And yes, fortify stuff with DTs and Flashes are useless - especially against Vipers behind DTs. Arm could then back up the Flashes with Samsons... making things interesting

But by then you're on to the middle section of the game, where light air units are starting to come out and advanced units make more apperance. Artillery will own HTLs.

Btw does anyone know how to change the loading screen? I had mine changed somehow and I don't know how to change it back.

Ah, but artillery means that Punishers are available to defend and reduce the artillery to scrap metal. And then of course try the Pulveriser forests/anti air tactics and that's air out of the window.

Yeah... you have to adjust the BMP file in one of the HPI archives I believe. What changed it?

Then you use lots of Merls etc.

It doesn't matter anymore, I screwed up my version of TA and I had to reinstall the whole thing. Which means: TA, CC, BT, 3.1 then make another copy where I install TAUCP, then in the non-modded version I install all the Cavedog units.

Why don't you just use the mutator? Sheesh, saves a lot of time.

Mutator for some reason stuffed up. I install it and then when I try to run TA it gives me some weird message that I can't read because it's clouded in black from the loading sequence.
