Underworld.....Yah or neh??? I like the concept and all but didn't really enjoy playing the game. Her mobility is like a penguin rather than a sims. I heard the graphics for the new game is great but the end is abrupt, does anyone know about the controls. Does she still move around like a penguin because that would be dumb....opinions?......
Thanks,
Kayla

I played the demo, and even though I've been a pretty big TR fan for about 8 years now, it felt decidedly "....eh..." to me.

Looks like they tried to take Legend and add more bells and whistles that it didn't need. While Legend was fine, it had some glaring weaknesses in the form of the camera and pretty weak gunplay. Tighten those down, get a good plot for once, and Eidos will have a winner, because they desperately need one.

Got it on Steam for PC - the controls are still pretty eh. If you're not under pressure, you can reorient the camera, but even then it still does the whole thing of:

"but the camera was there so you must have clearly meant jump right"

*jumps, Lara ragdollises on jagged rocks, facepalm*

That aside, gunplay has been improved by holding the fire button to fire (not firing each shot individually). There's also now a general bullet time control, rather than adrenaline dodged, which is much more enjoyable.

As for the game, it's good, but the story is quite convoluted, and I honestly liked the boss battles in Anniversary, so I kinda wish they'd hung onto them....

I am an original TR fan before it was taken over. I nearly wept with angel of darkness, legend I wanted to throw out the window with the linear too easy game play.
Underworld has changed and overall I really enjoyed it. The graphics were sweeeet. The secrets were back, the puzzles were back not as obvious were to go not as linear. The camera is no where near as bad as legend.

The bad - only pick-ups still are medi-packs apart from secrets. Oh for the days of having to pick up weapons and ammo and security passes to get through doors (let me weep a bit in remembrance )

It was only this game I nearly got the hang of the change of controls - why did they change them in the first place ? the 'x' button will always be the action button to me!! And I did love the old games of just rolling to line yourself perfectly for a jump.

Now if the original people had kept the game I can only imagine the game that they could come up with today, with the graphics, original controls, ah I can only imagine

Toby Gard (the original creator) actually designed this and brought this back. He had a lot of say in the look and feel of the game and he came up with this. I think it's good...I haven't played a lot of it but the game has evolved.
