Are those words not to tell us who is speaking to us through man?
And if a man uses those words in a prophecy how do we know they are from the LoRD?

According to Strong's 'Thus saith the L-RD appears 430 times but in the 'Old Testament' only.

It does not include his speaking at creation, but first starts with the command to speak to Pharaoh.

It appears 10x in Exodus
Joshua, Samuel, Kings and Chronicles 60x
Major prophets, 317x
Minor prophets, 43x

Besides making quotes of the prophets, I can't find that anything new is commanded by the NT writers by the L-rd. Any help in this area?

You know that there are many who feel the entire NT is God speaking. We've had a few in here who have quoted Paul or Luke or others saying it was as good as "thus saith the Lord."
I can believe that the original autographs of the NT were "inspired" by the Holy Spirit, but I draw the line at the belief that every single word should be taken as a "thus saith the Lord," or as more authoritative than what went before. My 2cents worth anyway...

I want one.. I didn't know that they exist.

Here's a link to what mine looks like, except mine is a "Special Margin Edition" which must no longer be available (the link is a "specials" category): KJV Sword/Word Of God/Large Print/Black Bond w/Index [ISBN: 1936428164] - $59.88 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

It has it's drawbacks but it also has some redeeming features as well. I don't use it as my "carry with me" but it's a nice addition. I've enjoyed it.

Right, what I speaking of is when the L-RD spoke through his chosen prophets, more than likely they prefaced it with 'thus saith the L-RD'. What they were conveying was a warning if they didn't get back to following Torah, such and such would happen. But I don't see this in the writings we are given in the 'Nt".
why then do we assume that all is 'thus saith the L-Rd'?

Take for instance Luke. In his own words he says he is making a compilation of things that happened for Theopolis. He had to have gotten his information about the events he covers from talking to many different people. He is writing as a reporter or recorder in more of a historical sense.

So those in the 'OT' prophesied what would happen if they didn't return to
Torah, and thus G-d, but the NT speaks nothing of returning?

There are the Chronicles of Yeshua's life, the chronicles of some of the apostles' activities, and then the letters, but there is only one book of prophecies. Does it count towards God speaking... a thus saith the Lord.. NT style...
Revelation 2:1
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks
Even if you do not think God spoke it, it did come with God's approval .
Revelation 14:13
And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Who do you think is talking to John... God in the flesh??
Revelation 17:15
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the harlot sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Who would be authorized to invite us to the Marriage supper of the Lamb..??
Revelation 19:9
And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
Who is coming quickly.??Is it not our Lord God??
Revelation 22:20
He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

Yes, that is a good example, thanks Vis.

Interesting how this does mention keeping the commandments and keeping faith in what the messenger said.
