This question was actually posed a while back but it was kinda ignored and I'd like to bring the thread back but I cant seem to find it.

If a man found himself in the position where he was interested, romantically, with two women, what would be the issue (if any) of him bringing the two women into a relationship at the same time (Both willingly).

Well, it worked for Biblical luminaries like Jacob, David, and Solomon. Although David and Solomon might scoff at stopping at only two women.

This seems to imply that in the early church, polygamy was accepted, if not encouraged.

There was probably a reason why it was phrased 'bringing the two women into a relationship'. But, could or would you expand on that... like, are you talking about friendship, dating, sexual/romantic, marriage, or something else?

The missing context probably makes a difference regarding ethics/morality... unless one were subscribing to the Liberalism 'consensual and not physically harming' sole-qualifier that a few of the regulars like trying to pass off.

Regardless - my input, of course, would coincide with what is legal for the area and what aligns with Christian teaching - so it wouldn't be a big surprise on that one.
If it involves sexual, a married man and his wife.

It is not illegal to have a relationship with multiple partners. Marrying them, unfortunately, is.

It is not illegal to have a relationship with multiple partners. Marrying them, unfortunately, is.

Depends on where you live.

Being legally permissible still wouldn't make it moral though.

Possible jealousy issues, but if everyone's consenting, nothing morally wrong with the situation.

Although, oddly, this is the perfect thread to mention this one's favorite odd Crowley teaching from Liber Aleph: threesomes, apparently, are a bad idea. One thinks it may be referring to sex magick between more than two people is a bad idea, in fact, but one found that - with Crowley's reputation - to be an odd thing to be randomly mentioned.

If all three knew about it, and entered the relationship willingly, there's nothing morally wrong with. They are all free to choose and noone is being harmed.

Of course, a 3 way relationship would be many times more difficult to manage. Communication and respect would be even more important then they usually are. If all parties are mature enough to handle that then it has a decent chance of working. I used to date someone who was polyamorous and she told me about it before our first date. I had no problem with it so we went out for a while, we never had any relationship problems. Now, while these kinds of relationships can (rarely) work, don't expect them to last. Making a long term relationships stay long term has almost nothing to do with attraction, it's about building a life and living together. Chances are high that at least one partner is this kind of relationship will simply lose interest and drift away after a few months.

It is hard to make it work, but all relationships are.

It is certainly not in and of itself immoral in any form. The extreme right wing states gay marriage will lead to polygamy and polyandry; most people's reaction is "so?"
