Dear 1watchman. I say this with love, and perhaps you can give me a simple explanation: " In Matthew 22: 35-40: Jesus gives the two Commandments on which hang all the Law and the Prophets, i.e. 1) Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind: 2) Love thy neighbour as thyself."
In Luke 10: 25-28: Jesus repeats these very important Commandments to Love God with all our beings, and to love our neighbour as we love ourselves.
Why is there hardly ever a word of Thanks, or grateful Mentioning about the two obviously important Commandments of Love for God and for our neighbour? I have asked this question several times before now, but all I get is tacit answers. Yet God wants our love, freely given and No conditions tagged on. God is Love, and God wants loving men and women: not Eros or Philo, not even Agape, because Agape is Godlike Love, which is near impossible for us to live up to.
God wants our Love and we are told in Matthew 7: 7-10: " ask and ye shall receive," then we thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour/
all we know and all we meet, friends and not friends. A Christian`s sword is Love, with love we will overcome all enmity and wrong behaviour. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on sharing and caring. We start simply by treating all around us, as we would love to be treated. Love is very catching, and the people around us will treat us the same as we treat people. God will notice our sincere efforts, and God will Bless us.
The Bible tells us to: " Repent," and to " Become Born Again:" Stop being selfish and learn to Love our Heavenly Father, and love our fellow-men and fellow-women as we love our selves. Jesus our Saviour is always ready to help and guide us: JESUS IS THE WAY. I say this with love, watchman.
Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
