If I told you of this love
you wont understand
If I told you of this love
you wont comprehend
I had a life that was all trouble
and sometimes I wouldn't care a dime
but had a friend whom I couldn't understand
who came around at all time
My life was messy and fine
it was a life that I called mine
but one day my life was all tight
and I knew it was the day I die
I had a friend who came around
and in His eyes I saw this love
but on that day he had come to die
taking my place I wondered, "Why?"
I saw in His eyes what I had never known
a love for me which was fully blossomed
when he breathed his last, he spoke my name
his whisper carried to me through all ages
I have a friend who watches me from on high
but I've stopped living that life of mine
for on that day my friend died
to live for him was the choice I had
There is no greater love than this
a friend like Him to die for me.
