  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Think I'll sit down here for a bit... (8)

Well, I went out and spent more money on soil ammendment today than I think I've spent my entire life (LOL). I came home with a whole pallet of Happy Frog (from the Humboldt nation). Along with that are a hundred sixty five Daffy-down-dillys and seventy-five tulips. George and I cleared a quarter acre in front of his house and since the garden went so well this year, we're going to expand it. I'm going to mix some herbaecous and perennial plants in the centre and put the veggies (tomatoes, peppers, etc...) around the edges. But first we have to make it goat-proof. That'll take some doing. However, I've refused to loop knife-wire around the top of the fence like George wanted. No corner towers either (LOL). I told George that it would make it look too much like a concentration camp.

The State of California decided to re-establish or extend our unemployment benefits. They made it post-dated to the middle of July so I recieved three cheques! PRAISE GOD!! Now I can go to town on the garden and get things so that George and I are nearly independent. There's even enough to get my cars fixed and pay a few months mortgage. There's more good news that George (who's very superstitious) won't let me tell you all right now. The Lord has heard my prayers and all the good people who prayed with me, some of you here (thank you, thank you) and he said yes! I just pray he continues in the same veign.

Hey, Seajoy, when I scroll down fast, your husband's light saber looks like it's moving back and forth LOL It's cool looking! I'm using my laptop...wonder if it does that on my desktop?

Well, guys, here's my official announcement. I'm going to start working as a substitute teacher here in my hometown. I called about it today and just got called this evening...couldn't accept the position for tomorrow as my daughter is home sick and I don't know what tomorrow holds. BUT, soon enough I'll be able to say yes to them.

My husband wants me to work to make $$ for our daughter's college in 4 years. Wish me luck that I can handle this and pray heavily for me that I survive LOL

I won't be online as much when this all starts up...so word of warning to all.

It must be a soup kinda week. I got ham hocks from the Amish market, and made pea soup. It's lovely over wheatberries (I'm trying to avoid refined flours, so whole grains are my new joy). It's the only soup my husband likes, the infidel! I grew up in Michigan, and soup was a major part of winter comfort. He's more southern... and his family didn't eat much soup. *sighs*

Soup, yum!!!!

I'm flipping between the game and Bridezillas and I think the Vikings could take some pointers on aggression from these crazed women. They iz scary.

My mother is walking as if the new knee has always been there and fall is approaching. We can smell it in the evening air and some of my trees are already losing leaves. So far, this week is starting off great!

mmm even incomplete potato soup is still MUCHLY More Better (as my niece was saying the other night) than no potato soup at all.

I had a salad supper with the Women's Guild. I had my first official "invocation" and "benediction" tonight. Everyone was very happy that I've started that...brings us closer to the real reason we're there. (and yes, Rev, I used the general "God bless US" and not "you". Not ordained here ya know. )

Oooh and all my cool sniffies came in the mail today. Yummy perfume oils that are just...well...LICKABLE. But not, you know? *G* I'm wearing one right now called "broomstick" and it's so fall and appley and yummy and...mmmm. www.blooddrop.com is the place I got these from. I have lots of other sites if anyone is interested. Everyone has sample sizes to check out scents with so you don't have to go in for a whole bottle and most everyone sells at aroud $10 for 5-7ml of essential oils and carrier oils. (like jojoba oil)

Hooray for your Mom's knee, Porter! Oh, and don't watch too much Bridezilla! I'll scare you!

Although have you seen http://www.etiquettehell.com/ ??? AWEsome site. Although, I wouldn't let myself read it while I was planning my wedding.

Shoot, there a lot of similarities between crazed brides and some of my clients AND other Realtors. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment.

As for the lickable scents, why aren't they?

Broomstick sounds like the perfect fall scent. Is it spicy?

Well, they're essential (and I believe some of them might be synthetic only because of the price tag and availability of the EOs) oils so...not really digestible. But if they were...Oh man. YUM

Broomstick is more apples and smoke and a bit of clove...but I can't really get the clove on my skin. It's more apples and honey on me.

I have a great spicy halloween one called Sleepy Hollow. Pumpkins and cinnamon and apples. MMM.

Oh and Hay Moon (Hay and other dried leafy things) and there's one on BPAL that I'm DYING to get called "Sticky Pillowcase". all candy scents...like toffee and apple candy. Mmmmmm.

Do they make a linen spray? I love to use that every so often, but it makes the dog sneeze. He loves Chanel, though and licks me after I put it on, which never turns out well for him, yet he keeps doing it. At least he has good taste.

Do they have a lavender scent? I love lavender.

Here's the link to her scent list. I'm sure there's lavender in there somewhere.

http://www.blooddrop.com/scentlist.html

And another great place is Possets.com I LOVE her stuff.

I haven't seen a linen spray for either of those but it's not hard to make one with the oils.

And check out Gold Canyon Candles. I know they have room sprays in there. I believe one of them is lavender...I need to find my catalog. *G*

ETA: They do have a "multi purpose" spray...

(from the website)

Glisten is Blooddrop’s multi-use spray! It’s primary use is on the hair to add shine on dry hair, as a light detangler on wet hair, and as a frizz and static tamer. Whatever scent you choose, Glisten will gloriously waft around your head! It’s also great as a body spray and leaves your skin feeling powdery dry not oily. One more use is as a fabric and room freshener. Note: use sparingly on hair until you determine how much is just right for your locks. A little can go a long way! Sold in a one ounce bottle with an extra fine mist spray pump. You may order Glisten in any of the scents below.
