(((joykins))) one year an entire greenhouse full of tomatoes got some sort of disease so they all had to be chucked. I wasn't overly upset mind you because my other half insisted on planting those blinkin' awful Gardeners delight and I find them quite tasteless. Give me a good old plum tomato any day.

Bought some at a local farm, were good but have had better. And I feel the supermarkets' tomatoes taste worse and worse. Maybe they are not growing as well in my region.

Interesting you said that, I like ketchup and tomato sauce more than tomatoes. Must be the extra ingredients.

I just made gazpacho last night.

Peeled and chopped up some of those garden tomatoes.

Peeled, seeded, and chopped up a homegrown cucumber nearly the size of a small watermelon.

Chopped up about 1/2 onion, 5 small cloves of garlic, and a green pepper.

Tossed with some olive oil, red wine vinegar, salt, pepper, and lemon juice.

Threw in some V8 to make it redder and juicier.

Blended it up with an immersion blender.

Boy was it tasty!

I do like tomatoes on hamburgers and sandwiches, but just in a salad or something, not as much. I do LOVE ketchup and tomato sauce, people always ask me if I have enough ketchup and I reply "You can never have too much ketchup".
