It all depends on how we interpret the evidences all around us! If we assume God was a liar, well, things start to look deathly old! But they aren't. Then again, some are not as young as they used to be.

The problem is that if you hold on to a literal interpretation of Genesis, God is a liar either way. Once one realizes that the beginning of Genesis was not intended to be taken as a literal description of historical events, this dilemma disappears.

On the first day, 2nd day, etc. God created everything. Morning and evening were first day..etc. Does the big bang theory say it happened as God's creation 6000 years ago? No.

No, even the parrables I believe were true stories. The Creation acount was not a 'story' in the sense of a tall 'tale'. It was a specific telling of How He seriously created us, and the universe. The acount also tells us how long it took. What was created when. Just like the flood, an historical acount. So in answer to your if He uses stories, He's a liar-Yes! Absolutely! A filthy sinister liar, like He tells us the devil actually is. He also says the devil was the father of lies.

Or is it possible that just cuz something is on paper, it isn't necessarily true?

I've said it b4 and I'll say it again: Just cuz something is written doesn't make it true. Prove to me the Bible is the word of god.

God is telling the truth. The problem is that you are focusing on the literary method He used to convey His message and are confusing it for the message itself.

God is telling the truth. The problems is that you are confusing the method of His message for the message itself.

Genesis 2 is a powerful attack on the Egyptian idea that one could gain immortality through knowledge of moral order. However, by treating it as a literal event, you miss this completely.

OK, we'll have to agree to disagree. 'Now the just shall walk by faith' Jesus talked of Noah's flood, and Adam and Eve. He talked about how they were all swept away. You think His literary method was off too? Then I suppose we might as well throw out our city that we wait for, that God made, because we are pilgrims and strangers here, and have none. (Heb 11) Then the angels I guess can all fly a kite as well. So we might as well throw out the bible, since it's a bunch of fairy tales. Then what? Give all our money towards building a church?
