Rev 8:10 The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water-- 11 the name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.
I have read many places where people say that this star is satan falling from heaven but if Jesus said that he saw Satan fall like lightening from heaven in Luke 10:18, was he referring to the future or the past? I thought satan already fell from heaven in Genesis... Why would he fall again? The way I interpret it is that it is a a metor of some sort...
In Genesis, Satan was causing trouble... He was still causing trouble as explained in Job where he was in the courts of heaven....
Job 1:7
And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it.
I would not be surprised that when Jesus died on the cross, the entire heavenly court saw the depth of hatred Satan had for Jesus, and that back in the courts of heaven when Jesus returned, it was decided that Satan had to go.
Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Rev 12:10
for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night 12 Therefore, rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them, Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! For the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
The war in heaven is won by God and Satan lost. The issue was over, and the devil and His angels are thrown out. We know that when Job was alive, that Satan was still allowed in heavens courts. Was it the death of Jesus on the cross that resolved it in Heaven to have nothing more to do with Satan? No place was found in heaven for Satan. This earth is Satans last strong hold. We are the final battle ground in this war. God will win this war here also. Is it resolved in your own heart, and are you wanting Satan cast out of you forever too?
Hebrews 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;
