Anyone who has read Martin Luther or John Calvin's polemics against Roman Catholicism will quickly notice that Rome does not claim Luther and Calvin are speaking falsely about their teaching and dogma, rather, they defend their Roman positions. That stated, if you're read Calvin's Institutes you will quickly see that Rome's teachings have changed, a lot.
