Let's talk about the Cold War for a bit. Who remembers the Space Race in the latter half of the 20th century? I'm too young to have experienced it personally, but I'm sure there are many people here who have.

According to certain conspiracy theorists, none of it ever happened. There was no moon landing, no space walks, no space stations, - even no outer space at all! Yet the US and the USSR were staking their national and ideological pride on this competition between them. How does that make any kind of sense?

The US and the USSR were the greatest of enemies. They would do anything they could to undermine, embarrass, or otherwise thwart each other, up to and including preparing for Mutually Assured Destruction via nuclear war.

Yet, according to conspiracy theorists, they were both in on this whole space deception together. If there was no such thing as space or space travel, surely the higher-ups of both nations would know this, and surely when their greatest rival began outshining them in the Space Race, the ultimate way to humiliate and take them down would be to reveal that it was all fake - they never actually accomplished anything. The only way this makes any kind of sense is if the entire Cold War - the animosity between the US and the USSR, and democracy and communism in general in the 20th century - was also a facade. An imaginary conflict between groups that were actually best buddies, all working together to deceive the rest of the world.

For this imaginary conflict, proxy wars (such as the Korean and Vietnam wars) were conducted on false pretenses. Literally tens of millions of people died over the decades as a result of the global struggle between capitalism and communism, and for what? Some would have you believe they died for nothing at all. All of the times the world was on the brink of nuclear annihilation (the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Stanislav Petrov incident) were risks taken for nothing. Wiping out the entirety of human civilization was apparently a small price to pay to keep up the deception.

Every other country that has ever ventured into space is apparently in on the whole thing, too, including China, Canada, the UK, Italy, France, Australia, Japan, The European Space Agency (which represents 22 nations), India, Israel, the Ukraine, Iran, South Korea, and New Zealand.

All of these countries are coordinating perfectly with each other to make sure that all of their claims corroborate on every detail, despite all of the animosity and differences between them. In fact, for this conspiracy to be true, there would have to be no real conflict between national governments at all - everything would have to be ruled by a single shadow government, controlling the entire world. That means that all wars and international conflicts are staged, just to prop up the conspiracy.

Tell me honestly, does that sound reasonable?

...it could also just be that the Space Race isn't a conspiracy so much as it's a differentiated collection of ongoing delusions among the many nations, some being more deluded than others about what 'Space' can offer them politically. But yes, I think the Cold War had indeed happened.

Difficult for anyone, but Trump is likely guilty of pulling it off.
It's all in the report.

I have a friend who I thought was "normal" until we got on the subject of Space and he revealed to me that the moon landings were faked.

People who believe the moon landings were faked are people who do not have a firm understanding of science nor an understanding of just how smart human beings on the right side of the bell curve are...

When trying to convince my friend that the moon landings were real, I went step by step through all of his arguments and refuted them. Then I tried a different tact... I asked him if the following were real.

Submarines: He agrees, they are real and we had that tech way back then
A-bomb dropped on Japan: He agrees, it happened
Rockets capable of breaking orbit: He agrees begrudgingly but only "barely" capable of breaking orbit
Breaking the sound barrier: Yes, back then we could break the sound barrier with jets
Telescopes: Yes, we've always had telescopes
Radar: Yes, we had radar back then
Sputnik in orbit around the earth: Yes, he agrees this was real and happened

Then I hit him with a curveball. I said, if you believe in all of the above, then you believe in the moon landing. Reason being... In order to reach the moon, we had to have all of that capability that you just agreed we had back then.

I explained to him that from a rocketry standpoint, breaking Earth's orbit is the hard part, once you break Earth's orbit (which he agreed we could do back then) then getting to the moon is relatively easier provided you are willing to spend some serious money...

So then, after he absorbed what I told him, he changed his argument to "well, just because technically they could get to the moon doesn't mean they wouldn't fake it"

I then argued that it would actually be HARDER to fake a moon landing than to just go ahead and do it for real... In fact, I argued that with telescopes and radar being used around the world from various vantage points, that it would be IMPOSSIBLE to fake the launch and breaking orbit and going to the moon. Not to mention the whole thing was televised and again, analysis of signal origin would have revealed the location of the transmitter i.e. the Apollo mission going to the moon...

He absorbed all this, then said, "Well, I still think it was faked..."

the main argument is you cannot go through lethal radiation. The fact is no one has gone through the belts since and we stay well in the safe zone. If you can go through the belts why has one done it in over 50 years. You know the whole world teaches the big bang and life came from nothing and evolved into everything we see today. They actually teach that as a fact of science. Science does lie and is opposed to the creator.

And how do you know that this lethal radiation exists? Because science has discovered them.

And science found a way for the Apollo astronauts to safely navigate through them to ensure they got less-than-lethal doses of radiation.

It sure is interesting how science is the "bad guy" or "lying" when it doesn't support conspiracy theory or one's view of the bible, yet it is used and is "correct" when it does support it..

During the Cold War our good buddies, the Soviets, were kind enough to join in on our little American charade that we went to the moon. After all, they were terribly cordial and wouldn't have any vested interests in showing to the world that the US had played a huge con on everyone.

In life if someone is caught telling you big lies their credibility is in doubt. The US government after Pear Harbor was pushed by citizen outrage to find fault in how we could be so ill prepared. Their investigations determined that the commander of the pacific fleet was in gross dereliction of duty and another admiral were solely to blame. The outrage against these men was to the point that many were demanding they be charged with treason. These men maintained their innocence and wanted a court marshal hearing to present their side of the case. They would not court marshal them so they went to congress and has a law passed so they would have to be court marshaled. In the hearing these men were totally exonerated as they proved that the US had broken the Japanese codes weeks before the attacks and we were fully aware of the position and intention of the Japanese fleet. The press did nothing to shout out the innocence of these men and the credibility of those capable of this lie which resulted in the death of many US citizens and got us into the war shows an entity that is capable of saying anything to suit the agenda.

I can fly 3000 miles in a few hours non stop in fact I can drive 1000 miles in a day. We have stayed in low earth orbit below the 1000 mile high barrier for over 50 years.

The space capsule had 1/4 thick aluminum hull and no protection from radiation. The explanation for making it though the belts was they went fast enough through that they were not exposed to enough radiation. Seems odd that when i get an exray I have to wear a lead bib and the techs go behind a lead barrier for a less than a second low dose exposure. In fact the shuttle astronauts did get close to the 1000 mile mark and they reported seeing shooting stars with their eyes closed as they got near enough to the belts. This was visible radiation going through them that they could see. The apollo guys did not describe any effect at all or even notice when they passed through.

Source? ....and please, no hearsay or reflection in hindsight.

Here's what actually happened according to reputable info:
World War II, United States Breaking of Japanese Naval Codes | Encyclopedia.com Read about JN-25, since it was the code used during Pearl Harbor.

The 'Codebreaker' Who Made Midway Victory Possible

https://www.historynet.com/attack-on-pearl-harbor-why-werent-we-warned.htm

Conspiracy sites just love editing videos to support their own "theories".
It's also interesting how the supposed CCN report sounds just like the narrator in the video.

I actually love good conspiracy theories. They can make life fun and interesting and I guess a form of entertainment. Some potentially are true...some are not. The conviction that men didn't go to the Moon I think lacks real credibility for a variety of reasons.

Are we to believe that 12 men who walked on the Moon at least one of them or a few of them wouldn't have broke down years later and spilled the beans telling everyone it was all a scam? I know a coupe of them who were or became strong Christians sharing their testimonies and hearing them I'm convinced their characters are not ones who could in good conscience continue to put out a blatant lie. You just hear them and know them and KNOW that they're credible.

Also so many tech people involved overseeing the control panels in Houston....all these people being deceived from which instruments are showing them? Even to create a program to fool tech people would be such an enormous undertaking like going to the Moon itself.

And what about Apollo 13? So if that was all faked why bother a mission that didn't mean anything anyway. Just to have a big belly laugh that they fooled the world with a sick joke that astronauts were in trouble when in fact they weren't? Scaring their wives and children to death just to play a sick joke?

This is a lot like saying that because someone owns a bat, ball, and glove, then they played for MLB. After all, they have the capability.

No, not a good analogy. A better analogy would be someone arguing that it is impossible for humans to play the game of baseball and that the game of baseball cannot exist and must be CGI faked.

Then you go step by step. Do balls exist? Do bats exist? Do gloves exist? Can humans hold a bat? Can humans catch a ball? Can humans throw a ball? Can humans swing a bat? Therefore put all of that together and you have the game of baseball and thus baseball is possible.

If you want to go back to your MLB argument. The question isn't whether or not someone plays for the MLB. No, the question is whether it is POSSIBLE for someone to play for the MLB. And if said person can "throw a ball, Catch a ball, swing a bat, has decent hand to eye coordination and decent physical abilities..." then yes, it is POSSIBLE for them to play for the MLB.

Back to fake moon landings. If it was technically possible for us to go to the moon back then, and if faking the moon landings was harder than actually going to the moon, then logically you have to wonder why people would still insist on the moon landings being faked.
