I was wondering what you guys think of the Space Elevator that is going to be made, well probably going to be made.

It will never work. Nobody is going to want to listen to elevator music for the whole ride.

I think so space is the future and you and alot of others have to get used to it.

It may be technically feasable, but if it is not financially feasible it will never be built - in our lifetimes.
Wouldn't it make you ears pop to go up 10,000 stories in 45 seconds?

 Pressurization. It's going into space, after all. It's going to have to be pressurized to deal with air on the inside, vacuum on the out. So no, earpopping isn't going to be an issue.

Along with the lungs and any other....uh....gas filled cavities.  Yuk, wouldn't that be a mess to clean up.

BTW AOEfan, this thing would be cheaper in the long run, it's about $10,000 per pound right now to put something into orbit.  And with cheap access to orbit there are all kinds of possibilities in industry and manufacturing, not to mention the tourism angle.  It'd pay for itself in a few years.

But then again, wouldn't building a tower to the heavens be a bad idea.....didn't some people get in trouble for that a while back?

If you don't believe me goto www.space.com or www.nasa.gov, there plans for 100's years from now. Cause there is so much stuff we can get from space. Like we could mine on the moon, and mars, and other objects in space, and there is alot more things that can help everyone is in space.
