Catholics aren't the only ones who make the sign of the cross on themselves, Kimmee. I attended a high Anglican C of E for years, we also made the sign of the cross, said the apostles creed, used holy water upon ourselves when entering the Church, said the Hail Mary, had a huge Crucifix erected in side the Church. The Anglican Chuch is a huge movement in the UK, and many of its parishoners indulge in all of these things, although it has to be said, that many are possibly unaware of the origins of such practices. It is only since beginning the process of conversion to Catholicism that i began to understood their meanings and their beginnings in the Catholic Chuch.

I have been involved with many ther denominations though, and by and large, such things as crossing ones self were unheard of.

Luther highly recommended the sign of the cross but I don't know if Lutherans do it today or not. Protestant churches are not the same as when they started.

You should see the Greeks and Russians crossing themselves over and over, and bowing over and over, like when 40 or so "Lord Have Mercies" are prayed. Oh, and the Orthodox also do prostrations. Do ya'll still do that?

Catholics do prostrate themselves but it usually is during Eucharistic adoration. When we enter the chapel to spend time with our Lord in the bless sacrament some will prostate themselves face down in the presence of our Lord.

Also if you watch the mass on EWTN, the sisters will prostate themselves at the consecration.
