  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

If I say I do not worship a statue then do not say I worship one. It is a matter of what the person is doing and not what we perceive. That to me is not listening. We could even go so far as to say it is harassment.

when the statue is made is there a ceremony placed over it

and is there any special treatment given to the statue

does the church consider it to be more then an object?

like if someone were to say touch it in an improper way or something is that forbidden?

do you offer things to the statue?

not you personally but your church in general

So hurting another physically is an act of Love? We are to love as God loves.. I do not believe my Father would slug me in the Eye because He loved me.. Do you? I know that if my earthly mother were to slug me in the eye a case of abuse would open up.. LOL

I'm just trying to understand better what happens around the statue

is there a ceremony done specifically for the statue?

is the statue considered sacred by the church?

is some type of treatment(other then maintenance) given to the statue?

are objects offered to the statue?

If a Marian shrine is known for healing then only who God chooses to be heal will be healed. It;s not a guarantee anyone will be healed. It's not magic and one still has to have faith in God's healing power.

Interesting. My wife was healed at a healing service our church had one Wednesday but no statue was needed......
