Antarctica is a region in the world. You seem to be saying that Antarctica circumferences the whole earth; but even you say that it is there.

If only 2% of the passengers are going from Johannesburg to Santiago, absolutely. Most of the passengers getting on at Johannesburg are only going to the first stop, and it is a completely different group of passengers doing the hop to Santiago. Only a few passengers are travelling all the way from Johannesburg to Santiago. They are simply hitching a ride on two or more different flights along more popular routes.A 25 hour flight is more "commercially viable" than a 14 hour flight?

If most of the people travelling are only going between the intermediate destinations, the airline is making plenty of profit. They may take a small loss on the few travelling between the two endpoints, because if they didn't the tickets would be way too expensive for the travelers.Even the 14 hour flight includes a stop, would not the most viable thing be to just go straight to the destination,
going to Sydney, to pick up passengers, is a longer distance than just going straight to Santiago.
And any commercial bottom line is money, a 25 hour flight costs more money than a 14 hour flight,
and not stopping would cost the least amount of money. They have to stop, because they have to refuel.
Look into it, even the 14 hour flight, it's a certain kind of plane, they stop, fill it to the max, and use all that fuel to get to Johannesburg.
No, what is clear is you refuse to accept reality and will try and interpret the evidence to fit your preconceived ideas.It is clear from all the images, that a trip from Johannesburg to Santiago, should be the same relative distance as a trip from Sydney to Santiago. Yet you will not find any direct flight from Johannesburg to Santiago. That is the point. The earth is as the Bible describes.
