I have no problem with riffing, even on stuff I like (heck, I probably make fun of stuff I like every day). For example, I really like the classic Vincent Price B-movie House on Haunted Hill, but still enjoyed the live Rifftrax show they did on it last Halloween.
I like Godzilla too; Ive watched it since I was little. But, admittedly, the dozen or so Godzilla movies Ive seen can be very cheesy (with the exception of the first one and maybe a few of the Heisei films). But I can understand why, theyre Japanese and Ive played enough Japanese video games to know how different their culture and art is.
That doesnt mean there arent some horrible Godzilla movies though, like Godzillas Revenge.
