I thought the acting was good, love Kate Winslet, but figured it our by half way through and here's the thing about the end: I used to work against the Death Penalty, and I don't know anyone that would do this. It ruined it for me that they resorted to what I thought was a cheap trick (ok, expensive trick if you look at it, really) instead of letting the argument stand or fall on it's own merits. There have been scores of people released now from Death Row because of DNA evidence, so it really didn't need to be done.
That's my two cents, anyway.
