I'm glad you are gleaning from the book. It really was a good study for me.Hmmmm looks like I am an audience of one with a couple of drop ins today ...oh well... I'll talk to myself since it is what I seem to be best at lately...LOL well I talk to God at least I have Him. I answer myself too, pretty scarey.
I am reading this book called "The Heart of the Artist" by Rory Noland" great if you are in the arts performing, visual arts, a recommend by my dear sister Martinique a fellow thespian, thanks honey.
Great quote in it that I am posting seemed to really hit the spot today.
Be more concerned with your character than with your reputation, because your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are." John Wooden
Thank God I know this is really the truth I think the Lord gave this to me today thank you Father in Heaven I really needed to hear this.... and a great Amen to that.
Faith Question #1:
In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?
OK I am reading this and going wow cause this is what I wanted my last thread to be, encouraging, loving, and a form of study for all to share and I see it happening which has just changed the course of this thread and added to it and I am so happy because I see the hand of God in all this and I am thrilled.
Thanks!John I just noticed your signature I love this it just touched my heart I think you should make it bigger.
There is hope for the helpless, rest for the weary, love for the broken heart. There is grace and forgiveness, mercy and healing. He'll meet you wherever you are. Cry out to Jesus, Cry out to Jesus!
Howdy!Ok, you got it!
Hi John!God bless ya!
YAY John!John always lightens up a thread. Glad you stopped by... come back soon!!
My sentiments exactly Unni.....it is why I came back, it is why I opened this thread ......it is why God whispered in my ear to do that......
Thanks for the invitation, dear Gab.
I think these verses were meant to be shared with you all today:
Colossians 3:12-17
12 Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
May God bless you all today!
Tati I know you told me to open the ARC in August...I should have, I just didn't see this paticular vision for it as it was different at the other site. I guess GOD showed me thru experiences what was needed. This kind of thread is what I knew you were capable of Gabby (although it takes all of us to make it this amazing). This is why I wanted you to be here at CF... there are people here who need your love, guidance, and friendship. This thread is only amazing because we have dedicated friends here, interesting topics, and wisdom from God. If we keep doing this for God and for fellowship, it should prosper.
This song that you wrote Amin is beautiful...so when are you going to sing it to me.Can you think of a reason, we deserve to be saved.
Can you think of a reason, oh just one.
That God should have spared our lives
and saved our souls, by sacrificing His own son.
Chorus
Thru the eyes of love God gave us Jesus,
Thru the eyes of love God gave His only Son,
Thru the eyes of love our sin was, paid for
By the blood of Gods' Holy One,
Can you think of a reason, we deserve a home
Like the one Gods prepared to give,
Can you think of a reason, oh just one,
our sin He should forgive.
Chorus.
Can you think of a reason we deserve to be saved,
No i can't think of one,
So as we go thru each day, let's praise our Lord, For the love He's shown,
Chorus.
Reasons to think of His Love

Hooray!I've already read it and studied it in-depth at another site... but HEY it's a New Year and I think I get brushed up on that book again. I'm glad to see so many others here have already read it. How about we still discuss it since it has some great faith building questions.
*Hands out paper and pencils*Gabs trembles ooooooo scarey school...here teacher I have an apple for you.
I'd love to see what you all have to say about this. I'll update with new questions every couple of days.
Faith Question #1:
In spite of all the advertising around me, how can I remind myself that life is really about living for God, not myself?
Wow T you should pm me where the Christian Coffee shop is, if it isn't that far maybe I would go...I could use something like that...do they have old ladies like me..LOL*Munches on the yummy apple Gabs gave her while she thinks about this*
One... I spent this winter break away from everything for the majority. I spend most of my time some where around this site, or two other Christian sites. If I keep myself in a safe place, I don't have to worry about sinning. I spend the rest of my time playing with Diablo with Sean (hey I'm killing satan and his two brothers... it's a GOOD thing), or cleaning the house, or cooking for my family. I stay out of shopping because I don't want to be tempted when I have no money to spend and other than that I spend time with my family and with Sean. Plus Gabs needs my help and I'm blessed to give it as needed here, so I run from sin and think of God here.
Two... When I read books, they're usually Christian based as of recently. I don't get much time of personal reading time during college and it's even harder during the college to do alot of faith building study... so I do it when I'm home and I have to pack alot of it into a short few weeks. No time to sin when I'm focusing on God like that.
Third... God is seen every where in my room. My room is oriental so I have alot of nature items in here which reminds me of His Creation and His love for us. I have a huge movie theater sized poster of The Passion, so Jesus' face with the crown of thorns is right in my face (bed faces it). There's a small library of books that are Christian based in this room. A gold cross which can be seen from where I sit on my bed and a rosary right above where I sleep. My room is my safe spot, where I cry, scheme, and pray to God. I need all of this stuff around me... though if He took it away I know I'd survive.
Surrounding yourself with the good works for awhile but we live in a real world too. I try to surround myself with good by visiting the Christian coffee shop (you'd love it Gabby... they have live Christian music every Friday and Saturday night!) with Sean or I carry around a rosary with me and I slip it through my fingers to remind myself of His presence with me always. I say a quick prayer, I talk to God while I'm walking some place about some issue, I just try to focus on Him.
