Interesting graphic I believe from this same book of things associated to prayer, called the ‘Prayer Wheel’.
How to Pray - KSBJKSBJ
'The Challenge' - 'Have you ever considered giving God a daily gift of time? Not just a few spare minutes here or there, but a substantial gift - perhaps even as much as sixty minutes every day? It would be time alone spent with God in prayer and study of His Word' (Dick Eastman,'The Hour That Changes The World')
'Waiting'. I often find this difficult, but God wants me to 'wait on Him.'The act of soul surrender',Dick Eastman calls it.' I will wait on Thy name' (Psalms 52:9) He quotes a lovely experience of an old lady. "Well,I always begin my day with a season of prayer. In fact,I pray until I can't pray anymore. Then I take my Bible and read until I can't read anymore. After that I take my hymnbook from the shelf and I sing until I can't sing any more. Then I just sit quietly and let God love me"
Thankyou 'By The Spirit'. You are so right. What wonderful resources! Appreciate you.Totally not trying to derail this thread just want to offer another book(s).
Any prayer book by Andrew Murray is a winner. I have a larger collection in one volume called "Andrew Murray on Prayer". Within this one volume are the titles:
Abiding in Him
The prayer life
With Christ in the school of prayer
Waiting on God
The ministry of intercession
The secret of intercession
If I can implore you or anyone by any means who wants to go deeper with God, this one volume of books or even any of the individual units are vastly worth the time to read!
And a lot of the topics covered in "One hour that changes the world" are covered at great depth in these units
'Listening' - 'The Act of Mental Absorption'. We hear and go on to obey
Closing this thread with praise. Hulleluyah. Thank you all
