The sound was almost unbearable . . . a hideous screeching intermingled with all-too human screams rising up in the background, wavering in and out as though the source were moving closer than farther away. The priest had insisted that an exorcism was the only way to stop the chaos, to rid the small temple of what was within. It was possessed, some said, just after looking inside at how the chairs moved untouched by seen hands and the doors swung on their hinges without being pushed. And shortly after the priest arrived, the exorcism began.
It was soon completed, and the temple was whole again. The sounds vanished and nothing but the memories remained. But there was much more to the puzzle, and much more than what had been done was required. It was much more than they could imagine, as a group of travellers would soon discover.
The party is just a band of travellers sharing the same road, and happen upon the temple one night with no where to stay. The priests, confident that the temple was safe one week after the exorcism, will offer shelter from the night, and it is then when hell breaks lose.
