That's crazy preaching. A couple of years ago I attended an SDA church on a Saturday for a while to please a friend. It kind of confirmed the beliefs I hold most dear and am extremely passionate aboutJesus argued with the Pharisees who added many doctrines of man. Christians can do the same thing with outward appearances. It is the inside of us that God wants perfection.
I remember going to my mother's SDA church when I visited her and heard the pastor say, "If you wear jewelry that just means you don't love Jesus and you are going to hell."

Nooooooooooo. Are you saying the teachings of the SDA church confirmed your own beliefs? That's what it sounded like.
That preacher at my mother's church may have been frustrated because some of the women wore earings.
Nooooooooooo.
I learnt that SDA members, by and large believe they are justified by observing the TC. As Saul also once believed.
One woman at the church gave the sermon one week, the first time she had done so. She said:Are you saying the teachings of the SDA church confirmed your own beliefs? That's what it sounded like.

Well I don't believe I am justified by observing the TC.Yes, that goes with what I know of you.
Well I don't believe I am justified by observing the TC.
The first time I knew something was badly wrong, was when I heard two women, laughing and joking as they repeatedly took the Lord's name in vain. Apparently unaware they were breaking one of the TC.
According to the core terms of the NC that should be impossible for a Christian to do
I hope he( or she) was lenient on you!Wow, I never even said Cheese Whiz! I did say, "Oh, peck" in class one day and was sent to the principals office!
OK I will explain myself. One woman at the church was more in earnest than anyone I have ever met that in order to attain heaven you must obey the TC. In other words, that was what justified you. She was the most corrupted person on the inside I have ever met who attends Church.Yes, that goes with what I know of you.

Little did she know, she was sadly, a huge endorsement of my beliefs
The power of sin is the law 1cor15:56Yes, that is why the TC is the law of sin and death, and it is the Holy Spirit that gives eternal life through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ. The TC is outside, the Spirit is inside.
The power of sin is the law 1cor15:56
We need to stop using the word 'law' willy nilly. Why are you refering to the Holy Spirit and our living in Him as the law. That is just really wrong theologically and it will take two pages of posts to try to set that one right if it is possible. But not ALL law. We must keep the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, but that's easy because if you walk in the Spirit, the Spirit takes over and carries us.
Which reminds me of the footprints in the sand poster from way back...
The power of sin is any law you believe you must obey to be righteous/ justified before God.But not ALL law. We must keep the law of the Spirit of life in Christ, but that's easy because if you walk in the Spirit, the Spirit takes over and carries us.

It's the Pentecostalish mindset lol.. Why are you refering to the Holy Spirit and our living in Him as the law. .

Sin is the transgression of the law. That does NOT refer to the law of the Spirit of life. The Christian has righteousness APART( APART) from law. Period!!Romans 8:2 says the LAW of the Spirit of life in Christ has freed me from the law of sin and death.
Just like the word "commandments" we need to know the context of verses with "law" in them. Like 1 John 3:4 says sin is lawlessness. Is that law, the 10 Commandments, or the law of the Spirit. The law of the Spirit.
The power of sin is any law you believe you must obey to be righteous/ justified before God.
And the specific law the verse relates to is the moral law
Sorry you are wrong, friend.
Yes, Jesus is the END of the law of sin and death, but Jesus is the BEGINNING of the law of the Spirit of life in Christ.
