Say, do you know who actually was an AIDS denialist? Bill Hamilton, the man who is widely regarded as one of the greatest evolutionary theorists of the 20th century.
Hamilton was not an AIDS denialist.
I thought the point was that Hamilton was an AIDS denialist, since that was what you wrote. In any case, this is also wrong. Hamilton did believe that HIV originated from African chimps.Well, the point was, Hamilton didn't believe HIV originated from African chimps.

W. D. Hamilton - Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaDuring the 1990s Hamilton became increasingly convinced by the controversial argument that the origin of the HIV virus lay in oral polio vaccines in Africa during the 1950s. Letters by Hamilton on the topic to the major peer-reviewed journals were rejected. To find indirect evidence of the OPV hypothesis by assessing natural levels of SIV in primates, he and two others ventured on a field trip to the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he contracted malaria. He was rushed home and spent six weeks in hospital before dying from a cerebral haemorrhage.
OPV AIDS hypothesis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The oral polio vaccine (OPV) AIDS hypothesis argues that the AIDS pandemic originated from live polio vaccines prepared in chimpanzee tissue cultures and then administered to up to one million Africans between 1957 and 1960 in experimental mass vaccination campaigns.
Hamilton was (I gather) never convinced that the polio hypothesis was correct, but he did think that it had not received thorough enough consideration, and he pushed for further investigation. I don't know enough about the facts then available to have an opinion about whether his concerns were justified. In no sense did they make him a denialist about HIV, which means something quite specific.Okay, my mistake. However, let me rephrase my point:
Hamilton opposed the mainstream consensus concerning the origins of HIV, and this fact made him a denialist.
Sorry friend, but like everyone else, I grew up with the myth of evolution ever since childhood. So i know a lot more about it than scientists do
So. I'm sorry for necro-posting. But I saw a link to this thread on another forum and was told it would make my eyes bleed. Most of you are rational, but will someone please tell me if Peace4ever is trolling or not. This thread really gave me a headache.
Peace4ever shows up out of the blue in early June 2009, posts a rash of irrational posts and hasn't been heard from since. Yeah, I would say trolling.
