Amen sister. That's a very special observation. Keep it close to you, to ongoingly encourage and strenghten you.
Psalms 33:20-22
"We put our hope in the Lord.
He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
Let your unfailing love surround us,Lord,
for our hope is in you alone."
The Lord is our helper, amen.Psalms 118:8-9
"It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in man.
It is better to trust in the Lord
Than to put confidence in princes."
Well said. I agree. Thank you for your post sister.Today whilst reading in Luke chapter 22, looking at verse 27: "For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves."
I am reminded of when I went on a school trip to Egypt, we were staying at a hotel. After eating I wanted to bring back the plates and the drinking glasses to the counter, but I was told I didn't needed to do this. Back then I felt a bit akward having to leave everything on the table, as I actually wanted to help with bringing it back. Although since the teacher told us we didn't need to take care of this, I just let it be and went whenever I was finished with eating and drinking.
There is something greater about wanting to serve others. Same way as the bible verse;
Acts 20:35
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Even though getting gifts also feels nice, giving gifts gives me much more joy than when receiving a lot for myself. Especially to see someone brightening up when receiving it. Same way as it is more satisfactory to help others, to serve others with enthusiasm. We are told to work with enthusiasm.
Ephesians 6:7
"Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."
Yet having a servant's position before God as well as before men in Christ Jesus. Just as Christ came to serve us as well as giving His life up for us, we are meant to serve others as well as giving up our own lives for Him. We are meant to lay down our lives, and perhaps this may sow more seeds of salvation around among others.
John 15:13
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Just like Jesus Christ layed down His life for us, we should do the same for Him. Hoping it may sow more seeds of faith leading to His salvation through doing this, all for the gospel's sake and for Christ's glory!
Hi Mountainmike I really enjoyed reading your words thank you. What got my attention was your statement, "So let's focus on what we share, or how we should be, not how we differ". I am going through a Spiritual Awakening after years of living in Sin and blind. So I'm on a quest to find out what version I am. We all want the same goal in the end. I can see so much better now and I want to find people that think like I do so my flame doesn't go out. But your very last sentence that is quoted in the reply just doesn't fit fully in any scenario in what I believe. I will pray further on the verbiage. Thank you again. I just posted this and this is an immediate edit. I think I get it. I believe that we live on through those still alive. But we have to teach them right.and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Very edifying. Thank you.I read this in John chapter 13 yesterday, which was one of the parts getting my attention quickly. Not just because it was the first part I read, but because it show's Christ's love for us.
John 13:1
"Now before the Feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end."
His love lasted to the end, yet it still lasts! Because He was risen from the grave and is alive now too! But seeing His love whilst He was living among us on earth, which lasted to the end, is very inspiring to me! And it is a great wonder!
He is also called Faithful and True! And He loved us faithfully to the end! And He still loves us faithfully! He was faithful to the end, for our sake! This is why we should learn from Him, being faithful back toward Him as well! Persecuted Christians are faithful to Him, any true Christian believer at all should see this part as important to them as well!
Faithfulness is very precious to Him, our faithfulness and devotion to Him! And even though we still struggle and fall at times in sin, He calls us back again to Him, and helps us rising up from the pit! With Him as our hope, we have nothing to loose! As He is our anchor of salvation, He holds us steadfastly in Him to the end! And we can be sure of we are forever saved, when we remain in Him, as well as Him remaining in us! With the living water flowing within us, we have eternal life!
So many lost chances to walk in the spirit and to show humility and love. May the Lord help me to do better.
Amen sister, thank you. What may seem as lost chances will still be a part of learning for you, and to help you grow more in Christ!
And whilst you keep on walking in and growing closer to the Lord, the more you are becoming like Him, the more you will learn to walk in the Spirit as well as in His humility.
Nice. Thanks.I wrote this poem some days ago. I have shared it in the poetry forum, but I thought I could share it in here as well.
My Beloved
Beloved, I have chosen you out of the world.
Just as I am not of the world,
you also are not of the world.
Beloved, you were given to me by the Father.
All of His is mine,
and all of mine is His.
Beloved, from since the foundations of the earth,
I thought of you.
And I knew you.
Beloved, you are of the Father.
That's why you were given to me,
that's why you are called.
Beloved, I have given you the Father's word.
You are given the truth,
and let His truth sanctify you.
Beloved, I pray for you.
I ask the Father,
that He should keep you from the evil one.
Beloved, you are all kept in His name.
None of you will perish when you are in me,
you are kept saved in me.
I am your saviour and Lord,
I am the true Christ.
Beloved, I know the Father.
The world has not known Him,
but you have known that He has sent me.
Beloved, because you are in me.
The world hates you,
because you are not of the world.
Beloved, you are heirs of God's Kingdom.
It gives the Father great joy,
to be giving you the kingdom.
Beloved, as I have been sanctified for your sake.
You can now be sanctified by the truth,
you can now be cleansed by my blood.
Standing in my grace,
through faith and trust alone.
Beloved, my peace I give to you.
You will have tribulations in this world,
but I have overcome the world.
And I have come and spoken these things,
so that my joy will be fullfilled in you.
And what a joy it is,
knowing the Lord!
And most of all,
what a joy it is being known by Him!

Amen.Something I have learned, which is still needed to be practiced more, is that instead of being a lot concerned for what our enemy and other people will think of us because of our faith and relationship to Jesus Christ, we should instead be more concerned for our enemy.
As our enemy doesn't know the Saviour and Lord Jesus Christ nor do they know God. And by not knowing this, we know for sure that they cannot be saved. They are in danger for damnation every day, so if we truly care and love them as we should in Christ, we should become more concerned for them.
We are already promised eternal life in Christ Jesus, so whether we live a long or short life on this earth doesn't matter, as we are made secure in our salvation through His Son Jesus Christ! But our enemy are not!
So even though I have thought of this, I know this needs to be practiced a lot. When it becomes less of us, then it will become more of Jesus Christ within us. And this way we will gain less focus on ourselves, and think of others as more important than ourselves.
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." (John 15:13)
Thank you.Hebrews 10:22-23
