• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

We are the Self-Injury Forum under Recovery. Therefore, we can safely say that our forum is for recovery-minded self-injurers.

It sounds general but we can leave it there. But we can also redefine our forum in our way. So let me ask the big question. What do we want from our forum? What is this forum for?

Hi Rupert! When I think of the self-injury forum, I do think of recovery but I think of it as a healing process, a support group in a way. We are here for one another, we tell our problems, and sometimes the advice we give is the advice we take to heart and use ourselves. I don't think anyone who cuts doesn't want to recover." When I first came here and the depression forum on CF I was looking for hope and answers and that is exactly what I found! I still struggle but it makes me feel good that this place is here and there are so many good people on here. Lily00

I agree with Lily00 100% this forum is like a support group conviently located at the nearset computer and containing a lot more people and diverse wisdom than your average local group.
I think we're all seeking people who understand and are in the same situation or are in a position to be mentors.

i think it is wonderful that you lift eachother up and try to encourage eachother.
fellowship and fellowship from your peers is very nessasary and good.

i'd like to see more scriptures. some of you are futher in your walk and will find many blessings and fruit in studying scriptures more together. also scripture is alive! it's for us all everyday. it's not just to know, it's to practice and grow with.

Rupert,

I want to see this forum be a place where others suffering from self injury can go to to receive hope of recovery and hope for their future. A place where they can read other's struggles and gain insight, tips to recover, and ideas on how they can strengthen their relation with Christ. Because we cannot do it alone, only through Him can be truly get better. I hope this forum evolves into a strong building block for all of those suffering.
