In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It is described in quantum mechanics. It is basic chemistry. If you want to produce a thermodynamically unfavorable reaction then you add energy to the system. That is Chem 101. That is Physics 101.

Why is distribution of salt in the worlds water systems ordered? Why do we have separate fresh and salt water? According to the 2nd law we should see even salt distribution, but we don't. This is due to an input of energy into the oceans which creates evaporation and then precipitation of water at higher elevations.

Ultimately, the energy needed to drive the decrease in entropy seen in organisms comes from the same source, the Sun.

Short answer: The laws of electromagnetism.

Long answer: Because simple chemicals will naturally and spontaneously form complex biological chemicals, such as amino acids. These acids would have built up in abundance, combining in innumerable configurations. All it takes is one such configuration to be self-replicating, and BOOM, we have evolution.

Do you realize scientists have attempted experiments with amino acids and have yet to create life from non life.

Where did the laws of electromagnetism come from? Don't laws require law givers?
