Likely you kind of knew that. Search engines create ranking for each page. Not websites, but pages. If you have the content people are searching for, then your page will attract the traffic.

You might have a page called "Free Tickets for The Rolling Stones" and it might go unnoticed if no one is searching for that. Likely few people do that exact search, but they might search for "Tickets for the Rolling Stones" and the partial match will get traffic. Then people might share the link to your page on their own popular website and your traffic will explode!

But the secret to all success is to have what people are searching for. Same goes for on-line.

I've seen Wordpress get hacked more than once. That was the way some Eastern Europeans managed to hijack the download link for Linux Mint a few years ago. It's an easy way to build a web site, though.

Also note that Google, the most popular search engine by far, ranks pages according to political agenda. They have their own algorithm to deprecate sites that go against their beliefs. They also deprecate sites that appear to be plagiarism machines, cutting and pasting content from other sites just to generate more search results. I've heard rumor, also, that they're working on deprecating sites that use too many ads, or highly annoying types of ads, such as ads with audio, ads that are way too big, ads that pop up and block the real content, etc.

Google ranks each PAGE on the internet. That includes your post.
At this moment, your post is not yet indexed.
But ANY page you create will likely get listed eventually.
Your BLOG on this forum might rank well becasue
of any traffic it might get.

IF and this is a BIG IF
You keep it update with all security patches, and your server updated with it's patches.
AND DON'T USE THE DEFAULT USER / PASSWORD ON THE SITE

I think its a pretty bad Idea to push people into thinking they could do a website themselves.
Most selfmade websites look like selfmade websites and hardly ever get the creator what he wants to archive.

By the way Google does not rank all websites, only the ones which are not penalized, which don't want to be listed. Like adding a rel="noindex" into their header.

Not sure if you are aware that besides Google there is Bing, Bing and Yahoo going past the 30% market share in the US > Search engine market share in the United States 2018 | Statistic

If you like stats, Bing is raising Googles is dropping.
