I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude for allowing me, one who is not Reformed in the true sense, to come here and be refreshed by you. I simply can't put into words the value I place on this particular room on these boards. Thank you for putting up with me.

Yet, who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? Esther 4:14

Our sweet Lord may be showing you His great grace in summons! God is good! I was unaware of the doctrines of grace until later in life and am so very grateful! Its that pearl of great price that was finally found and treasured! Please come to this room anytime and be assured of a warm welcome as I found when coming here not long ago! Kindred spirits here with only occasional minor variations of thought and doctrine! Spurgeon said we are all born arminian and it is only grace that makes us calvinists!

Even if we don't all agree on each and every distinct doctrine (in fact, how odd would that be if we did?) we all do believe in the doctrines of grace and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the most important thing. Everyone here (and I mean our regular SR contributors) is truly a Christian, for no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Ghost (1 Cor. 12:3). Everyone here knows and acknowledges that their salvation is not of their own doing, but purely by the grace of God. For that, we all have cause to rejoice and give him all the thanks and praise, for he has not hidden his doctrines of grace from us.

Coupled with this is an unrelenting dedication to biblical Christianity, and we all challenge each other to present Scriptures to support our views, knowing that God has given his Word that we might understand it and light our path with it. Even if our interpretations vary on any particular point, we do all understand the need to search the Scriptures, for in them we have eternal life, as they speak of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 5:39).

The camaraderie here is simply wonderful, and I consider it a privilege to be able to fellowship with you all and talk about the wonders of God's mercy and grace and his love poured out for us through Christ's sacrifice.

Soli Deo Gloria

Jon
